Spencer in for Gawn the obvious forced change.

We cant afford to lose this game it would be a huge early blow to our finals chances, and Freo have started very well vs the Doggies in the game just underway in Perth.

In:  Spencer, Pedersen

Out:  Gawn, Weideman

Hannan may also get the chop for someone like Ben Kennedy.  I'd love to add Hibberd to the list as well but he needs a week or two at Casey.

They should be breathing fire after today.

Spencer gets his chance.

Would have loved a Casey game for Pedersen, Frost and others to push their claim, but the ridiculous VFL fixture has robbed them of that chance.

Have a look at how the young Moore is going at Collingwood without Cloke.

Neither he nor Weideman are ready for the number 1 backman and nor should they be.

The Weed is the future and unless you think he will improve playing with an unco-ordinated system on a windy oval such is the VFL... we need to keep playing him

I know you want to keep running with the OMac theme, but deep down you know it won't happen.  Nice try.

Is Frost not a better option?

I didn't say that.  They may bring him in as the third tall, but whatever happens, it won't be at the expense of OMac.

I'd go

Spencer for Gawn is obvious.

I'll keep my powder dry on the 'ins' until we have some feedback from Casey's 3/4 practice match today, but Hannan has struggled for the last two weeks as has Weid.

I thought Neal Bullen poor today and that chip back into the square dropable alone!!

Harmes also not the answer. Stick with Hannan and Weeds

Bring in Spencil, Frost, Kennedy and Bugg

I think you *are* basing it on that chip back alone.

Think about it... everyone says we played well etc etc

next week we play Freo

The replacements are not match fit (practice matches in the VFL are not quite the same)

So .. why change unless forced ... Spencer in

Time to show faith

Brayshaw for Harmes, Bugg for Hannan, Frost for either Weideman or Smith, Pencil for Max.

I'll like to free up vince to go forward/mid. We desperately need some class up there. Really don't think vince is suited down back

Bring in Wagner or hibberd if ready

I can't recall too many games where a player is virtually unsighted and you start to look at the team sheets to check if they are actually playing. Sam Weiderman had one of those today. Needs to go back to Casey for a bit.

Gawn and Hogan are arguably our two most important players and we won't have either of them next week, it's a worry no matter who we play.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
