North lost to Geelong last week and may lose to GWS today, but again they have come to play. No excuses for lack of effort from us today.

Even the Tiges have turned up......

Predict Selwood to end the game with a bandage wrapped around his melon.

Watch for the bandaged head diving to the ground particularly in the last quarter if its close.

I love the air of quiet confidence that many posters have going into this game (it's been a long time since we've seen that before a match against the Cats!).  For whatever reason, I've shared this confidence all week, and it's been reinforced by the decisions made around the selection table.  It's impossible to say that our lineup isn't weakened by the MRP 'lottery', but I love  the competitive look of our team today.  I really think we can win, and have the the football world start talking Melbourne in a serious vein.

I'm not at all confident Deeoldfart- never was never will be. The glass is half empty-I had better fill it.

Not wrong about filling it, AFL must have shares in BWs I got half a slab and a couple of Guinness cans but I'm nearly out and game hasn't even started...

Arrived home yesterday morning after a couple of weeks o/s. Was wide awake at 2am this morning which gave me a chance to get up and watch (and delete) the recording of last week's win. Foxtel also had a the 2015 R12 game on at some ungodly hour in the middle of the night...happy days!

Could be sound asleep by half time.

Ed: Ken's Dream is the favourite at Caulfield (R6). I'm loading up.

Missed the start by two lengths and still got up...happy days indeed!

For anyone interested (anyone?) The Irish stout went in well, perhaps pitched the yeast a little too hot but will be ok. Smelt amazing so am assuming in a couple of months it will be, like the mighty demons, unbeatable.

Kit, only my third batch but I can see where this is heading. Steeped grains and also mixed brown sugar, molasses and liquorice extract.

All grain will be next experiment

Can't go today but will be trying to sneak a few glimpses on my phone.

Any late changes? How's the ground?

Hope we can roll them! Oliver for another 30+ possession game and Petracca to fire up and kick 4.

Will only be able to watch the first half as I will be dining out with a couple of friends.

I am hoping that the result will be decided in our favor by then!

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
