Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

The Tigers took Miller, surely they will take Dawesy?

The Tigers need all the most professional types they can muster together to change that club. its been a problem child for far too long, as we were, & as the Saints were up till the end of Tim Watson's time there.

He has had his moments in a Melbourne jumper, Daweshy. The win away at Adelaide was an important one along the way. He wasn't just good in that game. He was dominant. It's a pity there weren't more games in that category.

I think his time at the club might be done but all things must pass as George said.

"Moments"  just about sums his highlights for us .  Perserverance with Fitzpatrick despite his injury and medical issues would have paid off .

My dear friend, when I said "defiant you are", that is what I meant. The context is lost when abbreviated.

Communication is based on the sending, receiving and understanding of information, grammar and spelling help us to understand the message. Some people don't care and that is their choice, but others, like me need the nuances of language to truly understand. I may be a pedantic old fool but hopefully you know what I think.

I watched Casey at Box Hill today - the ground is a 10 minute walk away - and stood next to the Casey interchange. It was fascinating, haven't heard such swearing since yesterday via my teenage daughter, but what stood out was Chris Dawes, in the trenches, encouraging, phoning messages to Coach Plapp, taking the forwards in the 3 quarter time huddle and 'coaching' them. The players took notice. His involvement was inspirational. The guy who stood next to me was a huge Dawes fan, asked me why I was and I replied that when he plays - and he's often put his hand up to play while not 100% - he is always there to provide a huge contest. He then told me how his niece had suffered horrific injuries in a car accident, about how Chris Dawes visited her, how he was still keen to bear witness to her recovery.

If the guy wants to stay a Demon, fer crissake, offer him a reasonable deal to provide some much needed experience to what is still one of the youngest lists in the AFL.

Good on Dawesy. If we decide to not renew his contract then mayve a development coaching role for Casey?

I don't hate this idea, Dawesy knows the game, he's a bloody smart guy, just not all that good a player, i reckon he'd be well worth a look as a development coach, though i suspect when he's done with footy he'll jump into his Law career pretty quickly

Good on him, and I know Dawes is a good bloke, but it's hardly surprising he is openly demonstrating his coaching ability  when his playing career is surely at an end.

Happy to keep him at the club in this capacity, in fact I think he'd be a real asset once he stops focusing on trying to get his body on the park and fully embraces a coaching role.

Maybe take him on as a junior assistant but....

One thing I've learnt from our previous 10 years, with a new coach who has never coached before it's not the time to be blooding new assistants.

Even Roos brought his own experienced team.

True.

At least he's from within the system, and Goodwin should know if he can rely on Dawes to relay and reinforce his message.

Hmmm...our scoring improved 23.6% from last year to this year...whilst our defense marginally improved on last year as well but yeah... lets reshuffle...

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to
