I don't really care who wins.  I don't have a second team, although I lean to Sydney with the Xavs connection.

Buddy will run rampant and Dogs struggle to find goal-kickers.

Sydney by 28.

If the Dogs win it will be an incredible effort coming from 7th with a team that is ordinary on paper.

Clayton Oliver our sprinter in GF sprint. Hunt and other quicks must be away on holiday or Clayton wanted free ticket to the game.

Can't be correct.  Some poster was trying to tell me that Oliver had average pace for an inside mid.

Was all over the Dogs to go all the way before last weekend, but the ease of Swans dispatch of Geelong and the emotional rollercoaster of the Dogs last gasp over Giants points to a blowout today. Swans in a second half canter.

That's my view too.  It wouldn't surprise me if the Dogs are flat and disappointing today, the hype has been through the roof.  Swans are old hands at this.

Would be happy to be wrong.

I predict a close low scoring game much like last saturday at Sydney. I will give it just to the Bulldogs. They have beaten 3 sides against all expectations with the same formula whilst  Sydney look vulnerable against pressure. They were lucky they had Geelong last week  who were exposed as soft track bullies.

I think the Swans will smash them. 10 goals or thereabouts.

Buddy will dominate

I don't really care who wins though, just hope it's a closer game than I've predicted.

Not forgetting he might have trouble curbing his instinct to mow the other runners down with bone crunching tackles.

Along with many, I would love to see the Doggies win after years in the success-wilderness. But the soppy, midday telemovie Bulldogs hype, and the absence of any genuine reporting on the Swannies over GF week in Victoria, are beginning to make me lean towards the Swannies.

I reckon the Swans in front by 25 points at quarter time, the Dogs come back to within a goal by 3/4 time, then the Swannies to win by 30. Rampey for Norm Smith, Swans small forwards to be the main influence in their win.

I think we'll know a lot by quarter time.

With their more defensive playing style this year I think the dogs will enjoy the rain. They have only lost one game by over 25 points this year and have won the last two against Sydney - both up there.

Obviously it's hard to go past Sydney but if the dogs are in it after quarter time I think momentum could do a lot for them.

Being a born and breed Son of the West I hope like hell they win. If they do win it's a win for all the dreamers out there. Of course If Sydney win it's a win for all the Accountants, Player Managers, Marketing gurus and Economic Rationalists out there. I know which I'd rather be.

Sydney for me. Hopefully by one of 21, 57 or 81 as any of these will win me $250. Media fapping about the Bulldogs has made me sick. Hoping to see Luke Darcy looking like a smashed crab sometime after 5.

The Xav connection with Sydney means I will be going for the Bulldogs.

Completely agree - Neil Crompton. 1964. Fairy tale finish.

would be nice to see something resembling that finish today.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
