Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

If he's good enough, he's good enough and if not, he won't get picked up by Melbourne.

Don't forget that none of the 18 clubs were impressed enough to draft him when they all had the opportunity.

The fact that he's Jeff Farmer's son is completely irrelevant and doesn't justify blind optimism.

The fact he’s Jeff’s son got him into training so it absolutely matters.

Not if he's not good enough.   The only relevant aspect is his football talent.

For the record, I'd be rapt if we take him and he becomes a star but I wouldn't be basing that decision on his lineage.

I think it's a trap to be blinded by fond memories of Jeff and hoping for a romantic outcome.

This is a conversation based on speculation. So be it.

My thoughts are how i heard and were intimidated by opinion.

Then these names came to mind and all played well in premierships, i think.

Cable, media and pubs said he was too small, so he stayed where he was for some years.BL

Crawford. They said he was too small at his school , Assumption, played against tough men, and won a BL

Krakouer, and relatives, North Melb Social Club said he was too small. Loved watching him against Carlton.

i feel like theres no reason not to fill out your list, if hes 44th man then who cares its one season, roll the dice and if after 12 months it hasn't worked out its no loss but nothing ventured nothing gained

Actually, there is a reason.

First, pretty sure if you spend under the cap, you can bank the difference and go over the cap next year.

Second it leaves room on the list to fill a need midyear if you have injuries or glaring deficiencies.

Would love to have him on the list, .... if he deserves a spot. That said, I think the odds are stacked against him based on the players at the club currently that would compete for the same spot.... our first two draft picks were small creative players.

But hope he can prove me and others wrong and claim a spot based on merit.

we have two spots free atm anyway so we can still take a spot. and chances are his entire salary will be paid outside the cap as an A rookie and with match bonuses and you'd say given where we r at in the off-season and as a club he isn't likely to hit too many of those next year. and if you have injuries you'd be able to replace them regardless of how full your list is in pre-season

It’s seems he is wearing a number at training.

Does that imply anything at all?

the other question s

how tall and how much does he weigh compared to the other small s we have.?

skills and ability?  I have no idea I cannot get to training.

And finally how old was his dad when he started with the Dees and weight and height and how long did it take the Wiz to show any ability. Or was he fantastic from the start.

will love to read any answers

might be a fairy tale but why not try.

Indeed 640MD it may be a fairy tale and most of us are dreamers at heart but it would be outlandishly great for us all if Kobe showed a glimpse of the Wiz in the Red and Blue - The ball is in your court Kobe, you might only get one crack at this thing.!!!!

Jeff debuted as a 17 year old in round 1 1995 against Geelong where he kicked a goal on debut. He didn't do much in his debut season with 4 goals in 7 games. Presumably wasn't ready for the big time.

However,  in 1996 he went off like a rocket and kicked 37 goals as an 18/19 year old including a combined 9 over the last 2 games. He never looked back.

Sadly I totally lost interest in him when he was traded to Freo for the 2002 season.

The highlight of his career was kicking 8 goal in prelim final in 2000 - a small forward crumber kicking 8 goals in a prelim is absurd.

It would take a special talent to have the career the wizard had, but fingers crossed he gets on the list and we have another small forward to partner up with Kozzie.

he's got the number 46 on his back but thats probably just because the club has jumpers with numbers for training and it fits him, not much to read into, as i recall saad training in 16 at carlton and now he's actually 42 but thats not to say he wont make the list. i think he will

Do you work for the Herald Sun or some other media? Accuracy not a prerequisite in what you do?

Kicking 9 goals in the second half of a game presumably qualifies to your lofty standards?

Kobe Farmer, the son of beloved Demons great Jeff, is already making a good impression as he angles for a rookie berth ahead of 2021. The 170cm Farmer uses his nous as a clever small forward and was among the goals in match sim on Friday morning's searching session. – Michael Rogers

    GAMEDAY: Rd 09 vs Carlton

It's Game Day and the Demons are once again headlining another blockbuster at the MCG to kick off the round of footy. MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,
