GAMEDAY - Round 23

Midfield getting smashed again for second week in a row. Get Jones out of the back line and into the guts coaches!

Anyone saying we don't need more midfielders is wrong. Our midfield still can't compete consistently and we need more experience in there.

It be nice if Hogan did something to. He's taken less marks from more opportunities this year, kicked less goals and stopped bothering to lead or tackle. On form he shouldn't be playing AFL at the moment. Needs a rocket. Hoping it's not a sign he's checked out mentally and is going to leave.

Carried on where we left off last week.

Pathetic efforts to tackle and not prepared to run hard.

really disappointing end to the season, you'd think they'd want it more.

If Hogan has checked out he can just go. I can't stand these young pre madonnas. You're a nobody Hogan. You had one good season and your ego is far bigger than your skills set right now.

We are walking on eggshells trying to please him while he's walking around like he's entitled to only put in efforts when he feels like it.

Shithouse attitude!

Tom Mac getting a fair old touch up.

Oh well i enjoyed 2016 while it was fun.. Players are already have their minds set on mad monday.

Tommy Mac is not at fault. It's right in front of us. The midfield has been insipid.

One team playing for something. One team playing with no purpose and plenty of self preservation. Say what you like but mindset will always be different when you are actually playing for something worthwhile.

Showing how important this game is by starting with no Jones or Vince in the centre square summed it up at the first bounce.

So you expected this? With your optimism levels generally, I doubt it.

I did, actually.  I was hopeful we could put up more of a fight, but our season is done, while the Cats can get a Top 2 spot.  Their effort levels and pressure reflect this.  They are working far harder than us.

Again, I'm disappointed, but not surprised at all.

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
