Given salary cap and list limitations what team could actually gain from having him as a listed player? Is he a dynamic game changer? How long has he got left in him? Whose place would he take?

If you want him to teach then give him a coaching job, otherwise what is his value?

 

If/when we do not take him BBO, I reckon that he would be a great fit for the Saints as I do not believe they have a decent small forward.

His going to play divison 2 Northern Football Leauge at North Heidelberg with his brother. Good comp but he will kick 150 goals from the midfield, will be unstoppable

Personally I think we've already had the 2016 story of a rapidly improved young team with a huge scope for improvement and potential. 2017 is the next chapter of taking an extra step and anything less is stagnation, Even improvement within the context of other teams improving around us can be stagnation as we could still be in the same ladder pos with the same teams around us.

If other teams around us improve and we do to, then we should still advance up the ladder, as there are other that I think are cherry ripe for a fall like the Hawks, North, possibly even Geelong and West Coast.

I understand his face will be painted orange so he can play the part of an oompa loompa in the next remake of Willy Wonka. 

PS. The only reason he's retiring is that there was zero interest in him from other clubs.

Yeah that was my thoughts. No other club made an offer or showed any interest. His manager said that last week he hasn't had any offers. I reckon he thought a club in flag contention would come knocking. The thing is he still never retired on his terms unlike Enright and probably Bartel. 

That would still grate with him.

Suspect he'll double as player-coach in some way. They'll be paying him fair quid. AFL players in the amateurs earn good coin, more than they ever could playing VFL exclusively without being on an AFL list.

despite everything, i think it was a shame norf didn't give him another year. he was in form  (5th in b&f), no fitness issues and a legend of his club, if not the game. i hope it bites norf on the bum.

Ludicrous. Probably in the top 5 half forward flankers in the game still right now. 

I would struggle to think of a team he wouldn't improve next year on exposed form.
