It's time.

Agreed Jack! Not only is it time but it will be today! To this end I've emptied my Sportsbet account on the Dees.

However, I will not attend Shitiad Stadium but rather, I and the lads, shall watch our magnificent win from the palatial Theatre Room at Romsey Manor.

I'm never confident going into games at Etihad especially against St Kilda and today is no exception. That said, I don't want a close win, I want to crush any spirit the 'aints may have, and hopefully with that crushing comes tears from Reiwoldt.

Very sporting sentiments Ethan.

I'm hoping this game mimics the collingwood and freo win, where we get on top early and really put then to the sword.

But this is St Kilda, and Etihad. I'm far from confident

How silly of me Ethan! Of course those programs  would appeal to a thoughtful and responsible consumer who always considers the environment and its sustainability.

For once I am feeling ok about this game against the Saints. Right now we have their measure and our defence is starting to tighten up. Our defensive spread from the midfield will make or break this game. Dees by 30 points I reckon. I will have to take many secretive peeks at the AFL app during the game because unfortunately , I start evening shift at 3pm.

I already posted this in the preview thread, but North losing to Port has kept us in touch with the 8, even if barely. A win also puts us a game clear of St Kilda, Collingwood and Richmond.

This season isn't dead yet. Screw our record against the Saints and at Etihad, now is the time to show we're better than these pretenders and put them to the sword.

It is long odds to make it but being better than just "mathematically" in the mix this late in the season is a great feeling.

We'd need to win two more than north and one more than port and hope we make the percentage up in the process.

I they'll both win at least 2 more (North: Collingwood and Saints, Port: suns and Brisbane). If we manage to beat Gold Coast, Carlton and Port (the game for 9th), we'll go close but still may need one more from hawthorn/geelong/west coast.

I can't see ithappening. And I expect to read a lot of "the essendon game cost us finals". And they may be right.

Will the roof be open on a perfect day? That would help in our quest. Not sure on the policy any more but it has been open for one or two games this season.

THE AFL has made a concession with its Etihad Stadium roof policy, declaring the roof will be shut for day games if the contrast between the sun and shade inside the ground is deemed to be a problem for players, coaches and spectators.

And I expect/hope that that loss will be motivation in 2017 to never lose a winnable game.

I've noticed over the last 2 weeks a slight change in roos in the media. It seems he is being more nostalgic and talking about the future outside of football. For some reason, the hunch I get is that knowing his coaching career at the top level is ending, I feel like he is going to push really hard for that 8th spot. Whilst he has been super at "educating" thus far, I wouldn't be surprised to see a real push towards "motivation" if even behind closed doors. He obviously had us primed for a big start against freo, even considering we gave the first 2 goals up. I'll just say, for those going today, get in early as I think the first 10 minutes will be explosive. We can not lose to the saints again, and I predict we will destroy them early, even at that abysmal stadium.

I like your thinking.Hope you're right.

I may be wrong, just the impression I've got. When you have a list as healthy as we have in round 17, you can't afford to not put it all on the line.

Anyway, looking forward to watching frost and omac today, frost has been making some mistakes but he has looked to take the game on, as well as use his athleticism 3rd man up. It's a lot more comfortable for him down there and I'm glad the forward ruck project has ended. Also the other player set for a big day is gawn. Hickey smashed him last time, but gawny is a very good learner, think it will be a different story today.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
