Of the five ins, who do u think will replace Wagner and Oliver?

I think Grimes is a certain inclusion, and then take your pick of Harmes and M. Jones for Oliver.  I don't think Michie or Garlett have done enough to get the call up as yet.

Surely Grimes takes Wagner's spot this week. Surely.

As for replacing Oliver, none of the other ins are really the right type of player. I wouldn't mind M Jones getting a recall. He didn't do anything wrong when he was in the side at the start of the year.

Won't be happy if Grimes comes in. Tells the world all you need to do if you want you want to play a game is talk about jumping ship

Pretty massive article this week with extensive quotes from his manager.

Absoluteley agree, In other newsI I notice Jarryd Lyons is named in Adelaide's team. A very good onballer,  I think he is the  son of One time Melbourne player, Marty Lyons!!

I know you want me to guess Picket. Perhaps I'll eliminate a couple. I'd be stunned if you taught English in any capacity. That's out. You've also said that you're popular with your clientele. On that basis I've ruled out human beings. I'm left with greyhound trainer.

I wouldn't worry too much about Oli Picket he'll be right. His tank has been a problem all year, would prefer to see him run  out some games in the VFL before he gets back in.

Would prefer to see Harmes and M.Jones get a run before Grimes and Michie and I doubt that Garlett has done enough to get back in the side.

Popular with clientele hey! Does this involve night shifts?

Last time Bernie did a glorious job of roughing up Dangerfield and taking him out of the game while having a cracking, attacking game himself.  This time Sloane is the dangerman.  Bernie or Bugg to take him out for us to have a chance!

Crows forward 6 look downright scary!  Our on-ballers need to work super hard defensively to stop the ball getting into Crows forward half - starve them of opportunities or we will be toast!

Glad Wagners out of the side albeit through injury... Hopefully Grimes gets a run and takes his chance and keeps him out.

100% spot on LH. This is where the game will be won or lost - the defensive effort and work rate of our midfield. The game against St. Kilda was a classic example.

Also, one-on-one, the Crows forward personnel are a class above our developing defenders. If our midfield does not work super hard, it could be a horrible result.  Add Bugg to Sloane, and ensure our half forwards are awake and aware of the drive the Crows get from half back and we should match it with them.

From that summary this could go either horribly wrong or right Maldon! There goes my peaceful nights sleep (or two!)

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
