6 - Tyson ( great first half and steady afterwards)

5 - Vince ( loved the responsibility and centre stage )

4 - Jones ( just a dynamo who literally bleeds for the club)

3 - Frost ( proving the point that he should only play down back)

2 - Bugg ( great tagging game )

1 - Gawn ( prolific tap outs )

Seriously, no Jones??

He won the ball and then played dumb football in the wet. Handballing to players under more pressure than himself and short passing to players in poor positions.I found him very frustrating today unlike Tyson and Vince who showed how you play the conditions.

6. Vince - one of his best games for the year. Really had an impact on shifting the game our way in the 2nd and 3rd.

5. Tyson - Big game. Big numbers. Lewis and Mitchell were beaten by these boys.

4. Jones - He really stepped up again. Just tries all day and wills us closer.

3. Watts - Big first term, got us back in the 2nd, really establishing himself.

2. Hunt - The effort and 1%ers are outstanding. Just having a great 3rd year.

1. Gawn - really struggled with the 1 vote as I thought I could throw a blanket over a heap but he does have such a big influence.

6. Tyson - 26 eff disposals @ 81%, 9 clearances, 6 tackles & 6 i50s ... just reduce the clangers and you have a AA game!!)

5. Vince  - Hacked it forward too often (lower the eyes Vince!) and too many clangers but 11 clearances. Was in everything though, scragged, tackled and harassed the Hawks, annoying both them and the ump to the point of having to fake a report!)

4. Jones Boy - some horrid clangers and most of his kicking lacked penetration but his numbers/work rate made up for it)

3. Petracca - pretty clean game, 7 i50s and the equal most tackles along with Jones, Tyson and Hunt)

2. Clayton Oliver - Class class, creating time/space for himself and others. The future champ takes another step!)

1. T Mac - over ran the ball a few times but did a ton of work to keep the ball heading our way most of the time (when he wasn't competing on the ground anyways) along with 10 one percenters and 8 rebounds.

P.S. Garlett's game the worst i've seen from an MFC player this year. 1 effective disposal and only 3 tackles which were offset by 3 clangers. Hasn't played a decent game since Rnd 7 vs the Sons!

Now that Dawes is back in the team (for how long remains to be seen), as smart small forward would plant themselves at his feet, given he propensity to drop marks. He'd get soooooo many look ins, Dawesy's fumbles would surely bring Jeffy back into form.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

A couple of intrepid Demonland Trackwatchers headed down to Gosch's Paddock for the midweek Preseason Training Session to bring you the following observations. Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
