Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

There were people in SA who honestly, truly thought they'd successfully lured Jack Viney to Port.  People will believe literally anything if they want it to be true.

that sort of dreaming wouldn't happen on demonland though. nasher

That's true. I still believe in Santa and no one will tell me otherwise!

The media keep referring to his big future at Melbourne.

He had a look into his future last night.

It isn't bright at Freo.

Fwiw Tim Gossage on SEN once again reiterated Hogan is no chance to go home to Perth.

Lucky Gossage has never been wrong..never.

He's quite adamant about that. Did he say what makes him so confident that Jesse is staying in Melbourne?

About six weeks ago when he first claimed the same thing he alluded to it being inside knowledge. Today he added that Hogan won't be coming home at any stage.

He thinks Melbourne will be able to offer the same amount of money as Fremantle, that Fremantle are a mess and the go home factor so he can surf with his mates is a joke.

He didn't really add much and it's quite common sense stuff but any talk of him not leaving is good talk.

If he goes home to surf with mates he isn't a serious footballer.

Freo are a disaster. West Coast don't need him, and he doesn't strike me as someone who wants to compete for top dog claim (which he will have to do playing with Kennedy)

He is more likely to leave for another Melbourne team for success and/or money. Since I can't see anyone capable of paying him more than us (not significantly anyway), I hope that he can be confident in our success going forward and stays on. The better we keep playing, the more chances he will stick around.

I reckon Collingwood will get into him big time now that the writing is on the wall for Cloke.

Best of luck to them then. I won't lose any sleep on that one.

there is no more surf in metro/greater perth anymore... gotta drive 1-3 hrs to get a decent relatively uncrowded wave

And I think we've seen plenty to show that he is a very serious footballer.

Very  confident he'll stay.  He's just a fantastic footballer...another 12 marks last night in greasy conditions.  What I like about him most is his footy smarts and his consistency.  Rarely kicks a bag but you always know he's going to kick 2-3 goals and take 8-12 marks every week.  We keep forgetting how young he is for a KPP.

Thank god the dogs are stuck with Boyd and his bazillion dollar contract because the Dogs are exactly the sort of club I could see Jesse going to. Close to a flag, he obviously enjoys playing at Etihad, would get great midfield service, could get a good thing going with Stringer.

Really, thank god they stuffed it with Boyd!

I don't see any clubs as a threat outside the WA clubs  -  I just get a different feel about his desire to go home and the word around Dangerfield last season.

He did.  He also said he would provide more detail when he did his regular report the following week.  Still waiting for that 'detail'

I recon Jesse will stay, however have always had a worry about Hawthorn making a stealth offer (similar to Sydney and Buddy).

They will have a truck load of money if they backend his contract with immanent retirements  of Hodge, Lewis, Mitchell, Burgoyne, Roughhead (?) Gibson etc. They are also always going to be attractive enough from an on field perspective

Obviously this is unlikely and wont be easy given Jesse is not a free agent however the paranoia will be there until he is signed!!

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,
