According to DemonAndrew in the Tom Mac thread,  Greg Denham just stated on SEN that Hogan is not far away from re-signing with the Dees

Wouldn't put it past Venom top just be torturing the MFC faithful though   !

Funny the difference a year can make, 12 months ago Freo were undefeated premiership favourites, Nat Fyfe flying and though they had ageing stars i don't think anyone thought they'd fall away like they have.

On the assumption he has made a deal with Freo, and the rumours have been around since when Freo were still a powerhouse he could have made a handshake and brown paper bag deal.  If he has he must be seriously regretting it now. Though perhaps not legally binding how would he extricate himself from that I wonder.

You just walk away.

Not legally binding is a self explanatory term.

Edit:- If a club is shady enough to enter into such an arrangement then they deserve to be stung. Lay down with dogs wake up with fleas.

PS:- They may have said, "Come and join a premiership contender"  They clearly are not, all deals off.

Denham said that T Mac is close to signing a long-term deal and "hopefully, Jesse Hogan next".  Geez, how things can get lost in translation.

Most honourable persons would like to think they can keep their word on an agreement prior to formalising legalities. But if he was seduced by false hopes and promises then I agree it would be easy to walk away. I am quite convinced  these  backdoor  deals done outside the spirit of the  rules  happen all the time.

top of ladder 2015 to bottom of ladder 2016 without a single win....

if this isn't tanking i'll go hee.................why aren't the media all over it

lyon has publicly stated their season is shot (after only 9 games) and they'll focus on "development" players a.k.a. they are after the #1 draft pick come hell or high water. they are even cracking connolly style jokes and the media giggle and even draw up graphics on how they can "list manage" the season out for the #1 pick. hypocrites all.

Agreed! it's disgusting! but lets be honest, if they're going to get Jesse Hogan for example it's going to take at least pick 1 and a player to even get us to consider trading him this year and they won't waste more than one year at the bottom if they have any say in it.

Don't know about that. They will lose Sandilands, Pavlich, Johnson. Mundy having ongoing calf issues isn't a great sign for them. Barlow looks on the outer. Their rucks haven't progressed as expected. Fyfe is a long term injury concern - Hill likewise. Even if they land McCarthy, what is not to say he doesn't continue having issues. Neale mightn't re-sign (rumors of him wanting out). Fremantle are struggling at the moment, but things could get even worse for them. I don't think they will be a top 8 side for a long while yet.

It never ceases to amaze me how even the simplest of comments can't be relayed without error.

Oh i 100% agree that they need a full re-build 4-5 years of good picks through the system while Pav and co are there to teach them, they remind me quite a lot of us before out big spell at the bottom, they've left the rebuild a little to late.

Understandable when the 'relay-er' happens to be none other than 'Petraccattack'.

King of all misinformation and exaggeration.

Hogan will re-sign in his own good time under manager guidance of course. Guaranteed. I posted that Howe was done & gone way before it happened. It happened. Jesse's building strong relationships within the playing group & staff, is settled in Melbourne & going to be a keeper. I'll back this one in.

Tim Gossage just said on SEN that there is absolutely no chance Hogan will be returning to WA. Hopefully his on the money.

Probably true then as his "information" is usually whatever makes the WA teams look good...

Tim Gossitch (no idea if that's how you spell it) the WA reporter for SEN just ended his section by saying emphatically "I'll leave you with this, there is no way Jesse Hogan will come back to WA, I'll give you more information next week". Only small, but enough to get me excited

Funny that, he was pretty sure Hogan was going to Freo a couple of weeks ago....

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
