That would explain his modest output in the first 3 rounds.

Give him as much time as it takes to get the ankle right - love to see him back fighting fit in the 2nd half of the season when types like Clarrie might be getting a bit weary.

He had ankle surgery at the end of last year and missed about a month of footy, now two relapses already in 2016. That's got to be a concern for him. He's best 22 when fully fit, although that might have changed when he's ready to play again.

Good to see Spencil close to returning. Obviously he doesn't get a game for us but if Gawn goes down we need someone in reserve. At the moment, we have nobody.

Woukd it be too much to ask to have all our good players available at once!

No mention of Dawes? I guess he's available for Casey..

If Dawes ever gets another game then ironically it'll be because we've got injuries in the big man department.

I was a Dawes fan, but he has no place in the modern game.

Can you honestly see him doing anything that Frost and Pedo did on the weekend. Besides the Frost dropped marks.

That 100 metre run that Pedo and Frost went on before 3qtr time, Dawes' calves would explode like grenades.

He tackles well when the contest comes to him, but he just doesn't add enough to push out his competition. He's not as diverse as Pedo and he doesn't move like Frost or have the scope for improvement.

I will be looking forward to VB's return and wish him all the best.

For those who think the FD is always trying to mislead us, I note that the mfc web page says he is out for at least a month and at the bottom it says 3-4 weeks.  Sounds to me that the crook info people moan about is more like 'no one really knows'  rather than assuming some conspiracy to keep Demonlanders in the dark.

Not sure I agree.  For me, its like the Jack Watts scenario.  As in Dawes will be better in a better team.  I'm a fan of Dawes.  Have loved his energy, leadership on the ground (not this other [censored] leadership crap rammed down everyone's throat courtesy of capitalising organisations such as Leading Teams)  He is strong, aggressive and generally a straight kick at goal.  Yes he doesn't seem to clunk a heap of marks but this is just exaggerated because of the [censored] we have been mired in since his arrival.  Won't be long until people are singing his praises on here again.  Didnt late last year he bang in four or five goals straight against GWS maybe??  Bloody hell, two weeks ago and Frost and Pedo were no good.  Now they're indispensable!  I'm sticking up for all of them.   If they are [censored] well contracted to the Red and the Blue I am in their corner.  Go Dawesy!  Get healthy and stick it up the non-believers.  As for Vanders?  Spewing.

Done for the year, if mission says a month it's more than likely a career threatening injury.

He'd struggle for a game at the moment if he was fit anyway, as much as I love him.

He'd be in the side no doubt, he's one of our best midfielders and his size is an asset we don't have in the middle at the moment. He just hasn't been fit at all this year I think.

You've forgotten what he looks like at his best.

Would be playing for Casey this week if available.

Has had a really poor year as evidenced by Inside footy's player rating system, whereby he's scored 11/30. Conversely Viney has scored 27/40.

Seems constantly injured ever since he stepped foot in the door.

Last year I would have been really angry with this, but now I'm just mildly frustrated.

We have depth now. VBD out for a month isn't ideal, but not panic stations.

Weird feeling.

Bummer, but now at least we are developing depth.

Likely that Trac will be ready for debut before he (VDB) gets back and if Trac delivers that will make it that little bit harder or him to get back in.   Which whilst tough for VDB is great news for the club.

ANB also likely to get up in that timeframe.

GO DEES!

Vineytime spot on.

Close at least....

Resting for 3-4 weeks is not exactly the same as having an operation and missing 8.

Unless of course Misson is keeping secrets again...

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
