Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Only 1 best 22 player missing through injury at round 11 is great going

referring to Salem.  H should be back at casey next weekend hopefully

sets us up to have a real crack at the second half of the season and allow all our young players to play multiple games together and gel.

And getting Angus back will be awesome, a real beef-injection if you will

With our depth, and newfound awareness of the need to nurse and rest some of the younger players at various times through the year we shouldn't have the drop off to the extent of the last couple of years, despite fielding a younger team, week in week out...

Brayshaw, M Jones, Garlett, Harmes and H should all be looking to spend time in the AFL team over the next 10 rounds which will only help.

What does that mean? The medication that caused him to lose six kilos or the illness caused him to lose six kilos.

Perhaps it should be worded. The young Demon will be placed on the same medication prescribed after he lost six kilos when the illness first flared prior to Christmas 2014

It is likely that he was on one of two medication options to suppress an over active thyroid gland.

when the thyroid function returns to normal they will try and reduce or cease the medication .

normally ongoing monitoring of his condition would occur .

it is likely he had recurrence of over active thyroid <thyrotoxicosis> and was restarted on the medication.

he would have his thyroid function monitored no his parameters are now back in normal range and can start training .

this is my interpretation of the information not inside knowledge

Touched on briefly in this thread, but surprised it didn't get more airplay.

Is anyone else annoyed that when interviewed during the week, Heritier mentioned that one reason he hasn't been playing is because he's been coming to terms with Muhammad Ali's death? He's obviously a 'different cat,' and I like what he brings to the club and has apparently done great work with the young guys, but to me this is sheer lunacy.

He's a professional sportsman, getting paid money most have us could only dream of. If I went to my boss and said sorry I can't work the next few works due to the stress that Ali's death has caused me, I think I'd be looking for a new job!

He actually didn't say that at all.

I see that kennedy-Harris and salem have been named in the Casey development squad. I imagine on limited time but great to see them back playing.

Lumumba indefinite still. I've got my doubts that we'll see the Prince again this year.
May even see him move to 'other projects' come seasons end (altho' a lazy $400k-$500k may be difficult to pick up elsewhere)..

Feel free to tell me I've got it wrong.

The Misson bashers are quiet this season. Another reason why we must make sure we finish off the season well, I can't remember the last time our list was in this healthy state this time of year.

Anybody know what HL's story is -  other than a good game against the Roos his 2016 has been a complete bust. Im not certain his place is secure in our best 22 is secure and think we should look at moving him on at years end. The salary cap room could be important and he may offer some trade value.

HL is obviously having trouble passing the "TEST"

The big question is " Would he have passed the test before the concussion"?

Unlike Grimes HL has a contract for next year. Barring a pay out he will be fronting up again in 2017.

Our injury list hasn't looked this good since about 2000! And before then probably 1988. So best injury list for two years out of the last 28. Gee aren't we lucky.

Our injury levels resemble the Hawks injury free list for the past 5 years. They have had a full list (best 30 players) to choose from for the GF every year since 2012. You need some luck to win finals but the Dawks have cornered the market when it comes to lack of injuries to key players and any players for that matter when it counts!

What this healthy list also enables one to do is consider the quality of recruitment and development in the last few years. With only two players unavailable for selection (and probably one or two more not fully fit returning from illness or injury, much as Salem) we still had a high proportion of our players either former rookies or late draft picks (ie, 50+), such as Wagner, Harmes, vanedenBerg, Hunt, Jetta and the two McDonalds. I haven't compared that with other teams, but that seems like a pretty high strike rate to me.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
