Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Unless we brought in Rance, Hurley or some other established FB, IMO we just can't afford to lose TMac at this stage of our development.

Very much agreed. Would be devastating to our team structure if we lost him.

We have as much chance of getting Rance or Hurley as the Aussies cricketers do this afternoon.

We already have an all Australian defender on our list, let's sign him

I don't think that Hurley or Rance would be of any help to the Aussies this arvo. ;)

I have been paying particular attention to Frawley now that he is at Hawthorn. Last season he was wobbly until he shook off the bad habits he had whilst he was here. This season he has made few errors and is now the cornerstone of their defence. The sum total is that we had lost our best key defender and experience we sorely lack because he just was not interested in playing for us.  Losing TMac will be the same loss doubled up. Sure  he makes errors but by appearances it has not stopped elite clubs from having an interest in him because they know his value.  He will be very hard to replace.

No. He wanted to play in a flag. Big difference

We were not worthy as demonstrated by his half arsed self preservation efforts in his last season with us. He was not interested in us because he wanted to play for a flag chance club.

It's interesting that in discussing key defenders in the competition no one has really mentioned Frawley.

We got a sweet deal for him. Pick 2 or 3 (whichever it was) was a pretty good result for us.

If he had 'bought in' to our club we would have been better off.

Don't blame anyone for leaving when Frawley left, we had been a mess for so long.

Now we have built a club that is desirable to be at, we have strong development and improved our on field leadership.. It is not our job to try and convince Tom to stay, we have created a strong club culture and from what I understand have made him an offer which is inline with what the club can afford based on other talent we have.. It is up to Tom what he wants to do. If he goes, then we will bring someone else. It is about structure more than individual talent.

From what I have heard there have been 6 clubs hotly pursuing Tom this year. In saying that, should be hearing some good news on that front in the coming weeks. As well as Oscy

If today doesn't prove that McDonald's signature is as important as Hogan's, I don't know what does.

Sign McDonald x 2 and move on. FFS we are [censored] if we lose him!

This. He was incredible today - Frost and Oscar coming along really nicely as well.

I actually laugh when I think of Frawley - yeah, sure, he won a cheap flag last year, but they are definitely on the slide.

They'll make the mistake of letting all their aging stars go around next year, will have a pretty average time of it, and will chop them all at the end of next year.

You saw today that Cyril is the only important player they have under 30. Gunston and the rest will be much less effective once they're not getting delivery from Mitchell, Hodge, Lewis, Gibson and Burgoyne.

They're done, and Frawley will be playing with a rubbish team again. Good luck to him.

Usually you are reasonably measured BB, but that is garbage.

Tmac is a very good footballer on the cusp of being an excellent one.

Some clear targets at half back and a bit more maturity, he will be considered elite.

Hmm you're making it sound like they are completely cooked. They are still premiership favourites and were a couple clear on top of the ladder after winning a few straight.

They are still a hugely popular destination club and once Hodge/Mitchell/Burgoyne I guarantee they will jag the best available free agents and continue topping up.

No way will they be a "rubbish team" for a fair while to come.... Unfortunately

It will be really interesting, I think.

Often age catches up with players really quickly, and it seems that most of their older brigade are fairly marginal for next year (thinking in particular of Hodge and Burgoyne). Mitchell, Lewis and Gibson only have a year or two left I would think, after those two.

If their old players all crash at the same time, it leaves a big hole. They have a profile like St Kilda and North, in that the older players hold the team together. That's hugely different to teams like GWS, the Dogs and us, where the younger players are the ones pushing through and driving performance.

Anyway, Tom McDonald. Just can't imagine him not signing up to be part of this, and it will be a huge loss if he doesn't.

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.
