Could we be playing with fire trying to take on these drugledites? They were human cushions for a year,  they have sat out all of this year, and it's really not known what kind of physical and mental impact this saga has had on them. Is there an element of risk we are overlooking in our eagerness to pick the bones of this cheating organisation? How do we truly know what kind of form and mental state these guys will come back to AFL with?

I'm with you JC.  We have Melksham, Hibberd at best is B grade and Hurley had one really good year - 2015 when he made AA but still only R/Up in their BnF (at the Age of 25!) in a year they were totally cr-p!.

Its not as if they were playing in a successful team, at a club that has good culture/processes or did anything spectacular themselves.  None of them are leaders nor in their leadership team at a time their club was bereft of such and completely rudderless. The first 2 happen to be Goodwin's mates (which in itself troubles me) and everyone is swooning over Hurley.    I just don't get the love for them.

Take our chips elsewhere I say!

Exactly.  To top it all off,  they expect top dollar for them too. I'd rather back Jason Taylor to find the next Hunt or Oliver and develop them.  It's not like we have to rely solely on other club's excess anymore- sure it will take longer to develop them,  and of course there's a risk that they may not make it,  but I'd be happier going that route and failing as opposed to taking on a cheat,  tarnishing our reputation/culture,  and having it backfire spectacularly.

That's a 1st, Hurley is a better player because of his core strength and T Mac can't develop core strength because is 23.  Let's sack the strength and conditioning team also as they seem to be wasting their time.

Get the pensioner card out I'd say then.  He is 23

I'm convinced you aren't watching us play. TMac simply isn't strong enough 1 on 1 to be the 1st defender, he needs someone to play on the best forward so he can zone off and chop the ball off (Which he is very good at).

Let me preface this by saying I have no inside knowledge. I only relay this third hand rumour in case it turns out to be true I would hate to forget I heard it at the time.

TMac to Sydney on a huge contract.

How can they put him on a huge contract with Buddy, Tippett and no COLA?

Can't see this one coming true

Like I said: third hand info.

Perhaps Sydney already have a few expensive players they know they will be offloading?

Just don't want to kick myself in 2 months for not having mentioned it if it happens.

Have a look at the replay Biff. There was a shocker, when he took a good chest mark, after knocking an opponent out of the way and then kicked straight across goal to a GC player.

That was the only one I can recall though.

Thought Oscar's kicking was good today.

Which game were you watching?

The one at the G.

If there was a howler I missed it.

Was our best kick out of defence today I thought.

Kent butchered 2-2 goals.

Viney 1-1 goal.

Wagner and Omac not bad.

Forward line terrible.(non-existent terrible.)

This was floating around on one of the Facebook pages today. Is that your third hand information source?

No. Heard it from a real person but third hand.

As stated : only putting it out there so I don't kick myself in 2 months should it eventuate.

I absolutely have no inside info.

2 years ago a (different) person told me Frawley was off to the Hawks prior to that happening. Although that is now generally accepted to have been pretty obvious

When the game was on the line and Lynch marked on the wing, he turned McDonald inside out so easily, Tom was very lucky that it was launched to the square where Watts was waiting. Very stupid by McDonald in that contest, should've just slowed instead of over committing.

The Oscar McDonald attempt at a 3m handpass on the wing, was about as worse an attempt as i have ever seen. Thank god we were still able to push the ball forward.

Yes they were better today than in recent weeks, but they continue to make some unbelievable clangers. Bernie made them look like elite players' today though.

Redleg's right. There was one from TMac. Wasn't far from the Melbourne player he intended it for but it was as though he didn't even see the GC player there. His ball use has improved significantly from last year. Hope that trend continues. The best defender in the comp was a turnover merchant a few years ago. Now Rance's disposal is both effective & efficient.

The fear leading into this week was that the GC tall forwards would get hold of our defenders but hopefully our mids could sway the game our way.

Our mids, at best, broke even but Lynch, Day and 2 Metre Peter combined for 2 goals

Even the last 30 seconds. Ok the turnover is clearly Bernie's fault, but Tom turns his back on play and stands in no mans land as Lynch gets in a position to intercept the kick down the line. Tom could've led in for a short kick, could've led out for a long kick or at least could've faced play and moved a bit so Lynch had to defend him.

It's just a minor thing but these minor game awareness things add up to make the difference between good and bad teams and you want experienced players who have played 100 games to have mastered them.

I'd have to watch that moment again, but I suspect Tom was trying to get as far away from possibly receiving the next pass as possible. Maybe he knows his limitations now? ;)

I hope that you are correct Deestar9, we need to lock in our Keys ASAP - Go Dee's

We have had a list of names signing on in the last 6 weeks or so.  All the must stays.

I wonder if this can be thought of as possibly a signal that we signed a big name,  prior to this period, on agreement ?  Possibly once that deal was agreed to, the budget was set, & allowed us to go on signing all the regulars ?

All players make mistakes.  They held their forward line to 2-3 goals. I would say that's a handy day for the backs

I don't like either of them.

Does Oscar get out-marked for the first opposition goal of every game? I reckon there's been at least 6 times. He'll improve though I'm sure, he's just not physically ready to defend.

His brother should take the money and gtfo, and hopefully we trade in a key defender that'll do the same job for less.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
