I am not sure any of these tackles are deliberately aimed to cause injury.

With the breakneck pace of our game I also think it is a split second thing without malicious intent and tackles go horribly wrong.

( the days of a Grinter lining up a player to elbow his front teeth out or send him into the grandstand are gone in my opinion )

He should be able to maintain fitness in the pool and gym just not too much twisting and weight bearing.  

This really opens up a round 1 spot for Trac and / or Oliver (silver lining to the cloud).

Exactly.  When you think about the injuries to Petracca last year and Hogan the year before, this seems like the best news possible.

Fingers crossed he can somehow be ready for Round 1.  He's done the pre-season so his fitness base should still be okay.

I'm with the commenters who reckon Hartlett on Brayshaw was both deliberate and dangerous.

I hope the same happens to Hartlett, so that he can feel what it's like to be pinned, rammed and squashed.

Hartlett and Brayshaw were in a pointless bump-a-thon before the bounce.
Though I'm not convinced it was deliberate Hartlett saw an opportunity to inflict abit of pain and took it.
I'd expect our players to do the same.

Speak for yourself. It's bollocks and hyperbole to claim standard practice for the club is to blatantly lie about this. The example you gave quotes Mahoney as saying "at this stage". At that stage it may well have looked like a 426.
