Does happen a lot, it's why I went off following the NBA, every year sees completely different players wearing the uniforms.

I've seen Dawes show enough passion and stand up for his team mates enough to think his heart is in it though.

On reflection I am probably being a little hard on him.

Bloody sad attitude actually on my part.

Chalk it up to frustration I reckon. If true, it's not a good sign.

I hope the injuries were part of training and not unsanctioned out of hours activities...

I have a mate who got tennis thumb from swiping too much on Tinder.

"a mate"....... Righto then!

Apparently theres 3 injuries that have come out of todays sessions. Tom Mcdonald hurt his shoulder and looks like he got a stinger but he ran laps afterwards. Terlich did a groin and wait for it... Dawes re did his calf... surprise surprise

Terrible news re TMac and Turls.

Calf injuries are bad for older players. Hopefully it is not a severe one.

Given this was built up as the biggest session so far this preseason and likely the biggest session until the intraclub matches I can live with this result.

They wouldn't have McDonald run laps if they were seriously concerned and his shoulder is usually strapped anyway.

Hopefully T Mac's shoulder is just a stinger.

I know this sounds harsh but i don't think anyone would be too fussed on Terlich.

BBP, my post was more about who i left out from the injury list than included. We need a sarcasm font!

Yeah had a feeling the sarcasm metre was going off in your post, especially when you mentioned Terlich, but you can never be too sure.

Where is this information coming from?

Yes while i did have a hint of sarcasm this would no doubt be frustrating for the bloke considering its his last year on his 4 year deal. I am no physio but going by his calf issue in the past id say they would just be about shot.

Didn't someone say not too long ago on here the calf may see him retire, and potentially in the short term?

Saty mentioned that. The feeling i got that it was his personal opinion but i think he may have heard something from within the club.

The club wouldn't tell him info like that.

Anyone actually go today? I feel as though if the TMac injury was bad there would be reports on it by now. Dawes and Terlich I can handle.

He is very well paid for his services I am sure he will feel a lot better  every time his salary comes in this year.

He would be pretty devastated not being able to play. Money isn't everything, and if you're a professional footballer, no amount of money would make up for having your career destroyed by injury.

Sure, he's well paid, sure he can do other things, but we should at least acknowledge how difficult and frustrating it must be for him at the moment.

Most players change clubs with not a care in the world about how we supporters feel so I no longer care much about most of them.

I think you'll find that's not the case.

I don't begrudge anyone doing what they think's best for their career Even outside of football, career change can cause collateral damage.

So Frawley was distraught  about going to Hawthorn last year bing?

I saw no evidence of that and saw nothing from Howe a few months back.

They go after the money and fame, now I don't blame them but please don't ask me to believe they worry about how us punters feel.

Yeah good point.

As the game gets more and more professional I get more and more desensitised to the individuals feelings.

Sad but that is the result of the sports world we live in.

Please tell me your in angst mode, such a sad thing to say, I'd give away sport if I couldn't empathize with players over their journey for the club.

I saw Dawes on Saturday and Sunday at Maroochydore. He looked not 100 % and stopped training half way through the sessions. Had the calf strapped. Took the boots off and put on the Zoom Pegasus runners. Calf is a continuing problem.  May hold him back again.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
