His 'chase' after turning the ball over on 50 was concerning, but it was his first game. At least he got involved in the play a bit.

I didn't see anything to enthuse me. But it's his first game, in a poor team getting a touch up against a quality opposition, so I am holding any judgement until we see more.

I'm not sure what could possibly be seen to enthuse anyone with an underdeveloped key defender. It's why I was a tad surprised by his selection.

On what basis was he given this game?? Not in best at Casey over a period of weeks, so if you are rewarding form then how did he get a game??

Its the end of the season, every team not in finals contention promotes kids to give them a taste of AFL footy, whether they are dominating VFL or not

Its happened since forever and will always happen

I thought he showed something, clearly needs another couple of years in the system to develop physically but the raw ingredients are there.

would like to see young White given a run next week at the expense of Matt Jones or someone like that.

His disposal was somewhat average, but that can be attributed to nerves.

I didnt think he was ever really convincingly beat 1 v 1, which is a really good sign for a first game key defender who at every occasion fremantle dragged deep.

NO!! NO NO..

NO!

Surely it's a sign that Fitzy's gone? He never got back in the team after tunnel ball.

Yes despite his holding the Western Bulldog's $1M man to a single possession and some BOG performances for Casey. I am not sure why we are not playing a 200cm KP player who can ruck and play both ends? Maybe we should trade him so he can replicate what Steph Martin did at another Club! Edited by CBDees

He had concussion so had missed the last 2 or so weeks in the VFL. Has he shown potential in games to be a similar player to Stef Martin and go to another club and play consistently good football? Not at all.

Fitzy if 50/50 for next year depending on how Jason Taylor see the athletic KP players in the draft

So you miss two weeks with concussion (like Jetta) and you suddenly become 50/50 with no potentional? I think that the clip in the link below from his last game suggests that there is some upside with Fitzy!

We have a winner here Id say , at the right height with time to devolop physically will be a better player than the muppet at the other end Zac Dawson

He was ok, disposal is not up to it, bit like his brother with the kicking but he didn't disgrace himself and reckon has a future

He was absolutely stuffed. Underdone and not ready but will be better for the run.

Gave it a go and seemed confident with the ball even against top opposition even if his disposal was bad at times. At least he doesn't hyperventilate and fluff most of his possessions like some of the team's 100+ gamers. His errors were genuinely a product of him just having zero tank. Give him a break.

You completely misunderstood my quote and took it out of context. But you were wondering why he didn't play and I gave you the reason

What I said was he has not shown potential similar to what Stef Martin had, in order to clarify this further so you understand, this is in regard to AFL football. Stef had several games where he played as number 1 ruck and showed that he has the level recquired to be a consistent AFL footballer but when moved into the resting positions of CHF or CHB he seemed to struggle to get involved.

I still maintain Fitzy is 50/50 to stay on the list next year, which hardly means he has no potential, but rather if the list managers think there is an athletic KP player that they would rather give 5 years into then they will take him.

Fitzy consistently plays solid VFL football but struggles at AFL, which is not really new knowledge to most.

For an under-developed teenager and potential KPP, I reckon I'd take him at pick 53 in 9 out of 10 drafts.

Dawson is a much better player than he gets credit for.

Has cemented his spot in good sides for almost a decade. Got under Hogan's skin for a while there as well. Important piece of Freo's defense, which is the best in the league (although "defense" in the AFL embodies the whole team across the ground).

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak
