Has skill and pace, but I doubt that the club would want to reunite two of the three amigos, so it's very unlikely he will be at the Dees.

If he's a Carlton player, it's a sure thing that he'll be starring in the finals at another club next year.

On that basis, you would take him and Kreuzer in a heartbeat.

Roos would also need to work on Yarran's defensive efforts.

Someone on here posted a Yarran highlight reel a while back that was breathtaking. The problem with him though is that his good is as good as you'll see but it doesn't happen often or consistently enough.

It would come down to what you would have to pay for him and given Carlton has been watching its discards tearing up the comp lately you would imagine he wouldn't come cheap

Officially gone from the Blues. Not surprising news really.

Tigers lead the race for him, although they are trying to talk up a possible move back to WA as well.

Doesn't seem we have any interest at all in him.

24 yo, pace and creativity off HB. Isn't that pretty much exactly what we need?

I'll back McCartney / Goodwin / Roos to turn him around.

If he could mark the footy then I would say yes but no I don't think he's what we want.

Richmond seems to be in the hunt for everyone.

I seem to remember that Garlett's request to be traded to Melbourne took most by surprise last year. I'm trying to take all rumours with a grain of salt and looking forward to seeing what the football department surprises us with in the next few weeks.

Would rather him than Bennell

No disrespect but you can't be serious. Bennell is miles better than Yarran.

Yaz has skills and pace, but also amazing vanishing skills. If there's hesitation about Bennell's influence on off-field culture, he's got nothing on Yarran when it comes to detrimental influence on-field. One of the softest downhill skiers going around. Roos says he wants competitors. Yarran is pretty much the antithesis of that.

I'd only be interested in getting him on the cheap, but Carlton won't part with him cheaply.

Tigers can have him as they continue their tour of delusion.

I wouldn't give up pick 100 for Yarran, let alone the first round pick that Carlton want. Could you imagine Lumumba and Yarran prancing around on opposite flanks, trailing their men in by five metres and generally looking disinterested? No thanks.

I would probably give up a 3rd round pick for Yarran. I wouldn't go beyond that though. I think he is suspect mentally, I am not sold he is capable of succeeding at an AFL level. Sure, he does have the talent, but I don't think he is worth the risk. To my eye, he is an incident waiting to happen. He cannot control himself.

no interest in Yarran. looks like a world beater in 5 games per year. the rest he looks terrible.

a better version of Blease. we need consistent performers

So Cam Luke (AFL Trade radio host) is saying that Richmond apparently want to offload Ben Lennon and a third rounder for Yarran......

What?

From bigfooty:

Sorry for intruding.

Not sure it's been mentioned in your thread but a poster on the Carlton forum has mentioned Yarran's manager has been in touch with Melbourne and vice versa and Yarran is open to the discussion.

Goes with what was mentioned earlier about Paul Connor's (Yarrans manager and others obviously) appearing at Melbourne HQ.

If say that was to go ahead, what do you think Melbourne would want to offer? Not sure Yarran is the right fit but hopefully he finds a good home and shows his true potential.

Wouldn't shock me in the slightest if we got him.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
