Was calling for the loose man after the first 4 goals to clog up their forward line and force them to change their plans. All their goals came from quick breaks to an open forward line.

It took us until 8 goals down to make the move! Absolutely pathetic - how many people in our box?

I'm not excusing the players who have been terrible but that is just a disgraceful lack of tactical nous

Hello. I’ve been saying this for yonks. Paul Roos is a terrible tactical coach. It’s not that his tactics suck; it’s that he’s not quick enough to change them when things go wrong.

We'll win from here.....

I don't even care today. Who gives a stuff really, we are just riding out the year now. Dogs are going for Top 4. Stop getting upset by it and understand the difference in what the two sides are playing for.

Hard to know what to say really. PJ must be on the edge of madness here.

Must say the doggied supporters are decent people. They seem to have a full complement of teeth, use nouns and verbs and don't abuse everyone in sight.

we are meters behind all their players and not real effort to run. too slow to move the ball on absolutely gutless effort. do we actually have any onballers in the middle doing anything other than standing around like witches hats

Murdered in the middle and theBulldogs too fast, sure and accurate. Roos need to earn his money this afternoon.

Nope. It's like playing geelong on their pomp. Manic running, risk taking. Brilliant to watch

And if they can keep this up, they'll start to get some Geelong-like silverware.

Impressive. Interesting also how a few "hot" players lift everyone else and set a kind of standard that everyone else just follows. We just don't have those players, at least not around the stoppages.

12 months ago, Footscray looked destined for years in the wilderness. Lost experience and gained little in return.

They play to win and don't look for excuses. Genuine flag threat the way they play.

Body language of Dunn, Jones, Howe, Jetta is defeatist and disgraceful.

Until they are all gone, we will be average.

I'm a huge Roos fan but it took way too long then to make the move. You can't just let a team continue to play the game on their terms, you need to react and try to force them into changing their thinking.

I'd rather watch Casey play than to see our so called leaders dish up nothing

We could have put 5 behind the ball, wouldn't of helped. Roos isn't responsible for the lack of effort from the first bounce.. Disgraceful effort by the players especially the midfield allow clearance after clearance

People are still watching? I gave up 15 minutes ago.

I can't help it. I don't know why. Masochistic tendencies?

Honestly sick of the tripe this club dishes up. After wins like against the Cats the players say "yeah we've turned the corner", then to come out and be 49 points down in one quarter???

No wonder this club can't attract members

Yeah, that one hurts.

Don't start.

Stringer had a serious leg injury, no-one quite knew how or even if he'd be able to get back. We weren't the only ones who passed.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
