So appears Collingwood are front runners for Aish & Treloar acording to this article.

http://www.news.com.au/sport/breaking-news/collingwood-is-hopeful-of-securing-adam-treloar-and-james-aish-during-afl-trade-period/story-fnect155-1227479263831

And I note that Paul Seedsman's name was thrown up, however Brisbane wouldn't accept him in a straight swap for Aish.

Maybe Melbourne can get involved here? Maybe Collingwood can throw Seedsman to us with Howe then going to Brisbane. Maybe a swap of Collingwood's 2nd round pick for our 3rd also?

I rate Seedsman, played really well v us on Queen's Birthday last year. 23 years old, 190cm, 87kg, nearly 50 games experience averaging 16-17 possesions a game. Outside wing/half back with pace and a long penetrating kick. Exactly what we need. http://www.collingwoodfc.com.au/player-profile/paul-seedsman

We may not be able to land the likes of Dangerfield, Treloar, Prestia this year. But players like Seedsman could be the exact type that could help take us forward.

The likes Paul Seedsman, Andrew Moore & Daniel Gorringe could be more valuable then people think.

He's more of the same tho - another mid-tall half back flanker.

We already have Garland, Howe, Grimes, Lumumba and Cross playing that role - do we need another?

I think you mean to say we have players who play the HB flanker position.

Garland, Howe, Grimes and Cross are hardly line-breaking hard running flankers.

Lamumba was supposed to be one but for various reasons we haven't seen it this year.

Seedsman is a quick line breaker with a long and penetrating kick but not overly accurate or damaging kick so I'd say we don't need him because we have Lamumba who hopefully next year will have a better year. I'm sure Collingwood saw Seedsman as a direct replacement for Lamumba positionally speaking but he hasn't come on this year.

Looking at what our backline needs, it's clear we lack composure and skill back there. Garland again was back to his old ways on the weekend, consistently butchering the ball/throwing it straight on the boot when there's a handball on and covering the ground like a wounded elephant. Always looks [censored] when he's playing.

We have really missed Salem back there this year and I hope we target another lethal left-footer who is either a really good runner or a great contested player. Both would be preferable.

We're a one-dimensional unit back there and it needs addressing this off-season.

Seedsman is being put up for trade as he is massively inconsistent. plays a terrific game and then gets dropped after going missing.

maybe that will come with maturity - I thought he was younger than 23?

worth a look. if his attitude is good. we def need speed and skill off half back

He lives and breathes Collingwood (grandfather was former player and President (IIRC), I doubt they'd move him on.

It'd be like us putting up Viney for trade.

I'd be setting our sights higher than going after blokes who can't get a game for their current clubs or are right on the fringes, unless they fill a really obvious gap in the list.

For every Josh Kennedy there's 100 Ben Newton, Viv Michie, Aidan Riley's.

If we are chasing a back flanker who breaks lines and kicks well, I hope we set our sights higher than Seedsman.

I remember watching the ANZAC day game where he was best on ground which was followed by him being subbed off the next week.

He's a ok player but I hope we're looking at something better.

wouldn't trust anything from the filth

I was about to say - when did we last get a trade (or raid) from Collingwood who actually delivered on his promise?

I must say, off hand, I can't remember one since the father of that young tall who was supposed to take us apart a couple of weeks ago. (Some doomsayers here had him down for a 10 goal bag as I remember).

Seedsman & Yarran !??

Now just before ya shoot me down

Did you all see how Hawks speculative picks as appeared in todays' Hun, have turned out sensationally!??

Lets be bold and if we pay slightly overs ..... so be it!

Gotta be better than Bail, Skills, M Jones,( That other bloke who I won't name) Fitzy,Terlich and one or two others!??

Zero accountability defensively, would be more suited to a team like Hawthorn where his deficiencies don't stand out as much

Has never really had a proper preseason though which may explain the inconsistency

Collingwood have several similar players so he could go cheap

Agree, I'm surprised there's some love for him, most Pies supporters aren't overly concerned to lose him... apparently a little soft as well.

Just don't call him Lessy near H.

No, no and no. Went to school with him and is the biggest D***head I've ever met. Attitude is shocking, expects everything given to him on a sliver platter. Wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole!

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
