Toumpas disappointed me twice today. The ridiculous panicked handball in the square in the third that cost us...enough said.

And going nack with the flight on the wing in the first, he stuck his hand up and did nothing when he should have taken the mark. BUT immediately after he ran about 150 hard metres to end up with a mark and shot on goal. All was forgiven.

i hope he kicks on I really do..i want to like him so much.

I wonder if we set ourselves for thyis game as opposed to the last 3?

I think its a mental thing when ever we play great sides the playing group has a mental block, basictally many shyt their pants, once they get past that the side is going to improve out of sight .

DEElicious. So many thoughts, all positive but especially happy for Jimmy, Fitzy and Spencer. . A few mistakes early but you could see Jimmy grow in confidence through the match, and clearly felt like he belonged at this level as the game went on. Fitzy was outstanding down back and was really impressive below the knees as well. Spencil played his best game in Red and Blue. VandenBerg and Bernie V joint BOG.

DEElectible...

Is Toumpas the only player that's not allowed to make mistakes?

This three weeks is the worst run we face during the year. It's gone now. The next four are Bulldogs, Port, Pies and Saints. While I think the team has been badly shaken by the magnitude of the losses we suffered in the last month, they will still look better in the upcoming weeks than they have. As with the first four rounds, looking at this it's easy to think we'll drop all of them, but I think two wins are very possible. Not only are they easier opponents, but we will start seeing a few injured players getting back into the side as well. Now is not the time to freak out.

Told you so.

Damn I'm happy with that win. Also thrilled with Fitzy. How good was he today?

Loved then games of Toumpas, Fitzy and Pedo but we need to see similar over a number of weeks.

Fitzy has found his position - it looks like he can read the play from the back half so much better than he does as a forward.

Toumpas. Made a couple of howlers but his two way running was good to see and Roos will love it.

Pedo. We know he can mark and kick, and he has proven over 2 seasons he runs both ways. But he can fall away against decent one-on-one opposition.

well with many players its not their first efforts but their second and third efforts, that's what the difference to a ordinary footballer and a good footballer.

No...i just chose to touch on Toumpas if thats okay with you.

I have never once paid out on him in this forum, but those mistakes today were on the higher end of the spectrum.

He played well today...and as stated i want him to make it.

wow fitzy was awesome in defense today. Spencer looked better. I mean he rucked then followed up like a ruck rover twice and that was just beautiful when he did it and lace it to [Pedersen].

Hogan I just love turning up to see what he can do.

Howe was back to his leaping best. I hope we see him forward more.

Brayshaw, just love the composure and I loved it when he came off the ground with a few minutes to go and he was so excited and had the fists pumping to the bench.

Wow I didnt even notcie tom boyd all day. Wow no wonder he was subbed off with those numbers.

Grimes and Toump looked better

Pedo wow a very handy player

Jones please dont ever turn around and kick into the oppositions 50 and give it straight to there player.

The girls won so that was good

Downside- I set the game on my set top box and the stupid thing failed to record it.

i thought the most impressive thing was we won so easily without Viney, Salem, Tyson.. Fair bit of talent in those three

Vandenberg had huge presence in the midfield in the same way as Nat Fyfe. The way he just physically barges his way through packs and brushes off opponents with ease is something I have never seen for a long long time. Todd Viney maybe?

Riley can be the sub for the rest of the year if he keeps impacting like that. The guy is nutter1

Hogan just makes me moist.

Loving Fitzy owning the million dollar man! Surprisingly showed some poise too.

Jake Spencer was HUUGE! Best game by far in his career.

My man TOUUMP!!! Showed some real gut running effort and real class with his foot skills. This game should give him enormous confidence boost he needs.

Pedo is a gun. Dawes can stay in the VFL for all I care if Pedo keeps playing like this.

And to think we won without Tyson, Jetta, Viney, Frost, Trengove, Salem, Petracca Kent JKH... The future looks bloody good!

Vandenberg- an absolute bull, just loves the contest and smashing blokes

Hogan- no words needed

Vince- was fantastic all day on bontempelli, huge last qrt

Brayshaw- his last quarter was enormous

Pedersen- my 2nd favorite player, his willingness to get to contest after contest and to compete is a pleasure to watch (Chris dawes take note at Casey)

Grimes- thought he was really good, used the ball well, took some crucial solid marks, back to his old self

Fitzpatrick- what a master stroke whoever decided to make him a defender, gave Tom Boyd a bath

Toumpas- showed glimpses of why he was pick 4, now to do it consistently and remove those couple of poor decisions he makes

lThat was deadset one of the most ignorant comments I've heard on air, and not one co-commentator countered it.

Don't have high expectations.....the game's gone past him....

On another note, Jimmy T's running back with the flight of the ball in the 2nd quarter, I think? Gutsy. Well done, young fella.

Great win, vandenFyfe keeps proving why he will be a star.

I was pretty emotional during the game becuase I still feel we never really got out of about fourth gear but still won. Our tackling still needs a lot of work, the numbers may have been high but the effectiveness was pretty low. Still too many silly skill and decision making errors from the usual suspects.

Why did Roos take so log to play Pedersen? He works so well with Hogan (Rising Star).

Best games from Toumpas, Spencer and Fitzpatrick.

That backwards kick from Nathan Jones is the worst thing I have ever seen, but he has about 1,000 credits in the bank so all is forgiven.

I just got home from the match and although i predicted a win I didn't think it would be such a good one.

The tackling was superb.

Fitzy and Spencer were awesome.

Garlett is a class above,as is the Hulk.

Jones is a pure gladiator.

Toump is a gun kick, terrible handballer.

Howe earned his cheque today.

Vanders awesome.

The only really terrible games came from Matt Jones and Ro Bail .

Oh -Pedersen was outstanding.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
