Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Gutsy as hell from start to finish. Never lay down. Arrested momentum when we needed to.

Great performances everywhere although Toump definitely the highlight for me, Fitz not far behind and Grimes even with his usual clanger or two was solid. Jones and Vanders enormous. Vince's best game of the year. Howe utilised his strengths and was dangerous. Garlett added his usual sprinkles of brilliance. Little doubt now that Pedersen is ahead of Dawes. Brayshaw showed glimpses of true class.

Votes could go to almost anyone this week.

Sat with a bulldog fan. Commented that Murphy always plays well against us. He replied yes but every game he always makes one changer. It came in the last quarter. Grimes doesn't have to be perfect to be good

Bail & Jones did their jobs. If you'd seen much of Footscray this year you'd know that so much of the Dog's attack this season has been generated by the run & distribution off half back by Murphy, Johanniesen & Wood. Our two "spuds" significantly reduced their impact. Good planning from Roos.

However Jones did the stupid jump onto a pack thing he is famous for in the Third 20 metres from our goal that resuled in a free to the dogs who then went down field and goaled.

He is out next week injured or not.

I am not a big fan of Bail but I thought he did a few nice things in played that resulted in goals.

Not his worse game.

Punching the air in Vung Tau.

Don't know but the umpire was up him in the first half.

he's not getting carried away he's asking which of the other 20 players would you drop if it comes to it

it's a tough call

I know who wont be playing unless there are injuries we don't know about.

Old Iron hands can enjoy Casey next week.

However they will probably save him the embarrasment by saying he still has a calf problem.

The most important thing for the team today was the work of Spencer, the ability of him to neutralise the ruck contest and bring the ball to his feet made it an even contest in the middle and it had a massive affect on our midfield in they way we structured, our midfield is better when we keep the ball tight, as soon as we get a ruckman who can tap the ball away from the congestion we get exposed, Brent Moloney would of had a field day today just like he used to with Jamar in 2010..

Couldn't split Vandenberg and Hogan for BOG, with Vince close behind because of his job on Bontempelli!!

Other performances that deserve recognition cam fom Spencer, Brayshaw, FITZPATRICK, Pedersen, N Jones, Toumpas and Grimes.

As a back men fitzy played the perfect game. He didn't give us any T Mac cringe worthy moments which I thought he would've. He would beat his man or out sprint them then give it to someone who can move the ball along. He impressed me so much today. The toump kept growing in confidence and he started to get some possessions that led to scores. Yeah he ain't quick or strong but if he keeps gut running like that he will get the ball and he uses it so well. It was sad to hear that someone kidnapped spencer and stole his identity today. Whoever did that should get a AFL contract after his prison stint.

Riley (unlucky) or Brayshaw if he needs a break.

Does Grimes hold his spot in the side?

Yes-after today.

He is a back flanker and that is it.

Nope. Grimes should go. His disposal and decision making is still VFL standard. And go around again, Gus. We need you.

It was a ghood win dd but lets not get too carried away. It was a win against the Dogs.

Also What makes you think Tyson will be available next week and Jetta has missed a few he might need a run at Casy next week.

The dogs: beat the teams who are 2nd and 3rd on the ladder and gave the top team a run for their money.

Half our side played at Casey in rnd 1. So, not bad then to beat the dogs, I reckon.

A real confidence boosting win!

A bit of trivia: Every team we have played has been in the top 8 at the time we played them (except rnd 1 GCS who were touted as a top 8 side).

We are tracking OK.

Yes.

Besides that one blunder he is showing he wants to save his career. His last two weeks have been good.

I can't for the life of me see why there is all this love for Toumpas.

We carried him today.

Don't like to 'boo' other posters but which game were you watching?

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
