Yes it's quite obvious for most that it's a skewed stat and that it isn't an average (ie., a fair comparison) given i highlighted it with question marks (IN BRACKETS!) ...

~ shakes head/big sigh -_-

Came across to me as "why is his average better considering he only played 1 game?"

Gave me a laugh, but neither here nor there. Apologies

Thx mad. Can see how u may have seen it as that. Problem is if i didn't highlight it someone would have still mad a fuss saying "Hey you're putting Michie in there as an average... it's unfair... only played 1 match!" if u get my drift.

Go figure, Watts selected again. Those coaches obviously don't read the luminaries at demonland.

Or maybe they know more about football than the posers here.

Edit Typo - should read posters but I like posers so it stays.

or maybe we still haven't got a full working list to the appropriate standard ?

We'll see clearer next season when a couple more likely lads as well as some current ones returning from injury push hard(re) for selection.

I congratulate Jack on reaching a 100, hopefully he'll play out of his skin.

The club won't be waiting for JW to put his entire A game together. I wouldn't be, I'd definitely have eyes peeled for others.

Get it together lad or you'll be made redundant by those that can. That's simply the nature of the model of the successful clubs, you keep refine and adding. It would be marvellous if Jackie can just get those niggling restrictive areas of his game sorted .

You're often the harshest on those one thinks most able. That's what , imho, I think drives much of what's written here on DL in respect to Watts. Seriously has little to do with draft # but everything about the talent and abilities that probably went to it.

Much is made of Roos but personally I think it might be McCartney that brings it all together for Jack... Or not.

Be interesting to see how he goes on such an exalted occasion . Go Dees

Well done on 100 AFL games Wattsy.

Takes talent and hard work to achieve that, let alone to do it in the face of constant criticism from your own "supporters".

I'm glad you're a Demon.

WTF is a moxy bb? Sick [censored]?

.....................................[ pu ssy] ?

bub's age is showing, bbo, but as you are expert on std's i'm surprised you didn't grt the connection
A word that would be better suited to being on the 'oldtimey-dictionary.com' website. If you are told that you have moxy it means one of three things:

1.) What the Hollywood world today calls 'it.'

2.) You have an great amount of courage or bravery to do what you want do to.

3.) You have Herpes (which was originally called Moxygoshthisitchesherpes but was shortened to just Herpes in the mid-60's)

Well done Wattsy on 100 games. It's not easy for anyone to reach that milestone let alone someone who's endured as much critisism as you. You're a cracking bloke around the club and hopefully it turns around for you soon.

Now go get em...

Well done on your hundredth, Jack.

I look forward to some sublime tiptoeing around the forward-line.

Here's to an unexpected victory.

Well said ProDee. However, is that a Freudian slip hoping for some sublime tiptoeing around the forward line? Perhaps some subtle humour? Anyway, beautifully written.

The youngsters call that jellyfishing nowadays.

JW: "You’ve got to realise that these people have no consequences to what they say and they go off and say one thing and think they’re the one, when there is also 300 other people saying something. They say something and then don’t even think about it again and go and live their life. For the person that it’s directed at – it is tough. It can get to you a little bit, but for me, if I let it get to me at the start, then I would’ve been in big trouble. I don’t really know how I’ve dealt with it, but you look to your family and friends, and look at your life as a whole – not just as a footballer. I’m pretty proud of who I am and what I stand for, so if [people think that] I don’t put my head over the ball on the footy field … well, I look at the bigger picture. That’s helped me along the way. My family and mates have helped me along the way – and they’re a big part of my life and they’re the biggest contributor to who I am, and that’s probably what I hold closest is family and friends."

Well said young Jack. May the next 100 be as much fun and as successful for you and our Club as you want it to be. Good luck for Sunday young man!!!

It was. Just another cheap shot.

It certainly was. I have big doubts about ProDee's loyalty to the team he alleges to support when he continuously rubbishes an important playmaker in our team.Trust Paul Roos, he knows Jack's value as does Nathan Jones. Maybe ProDee should read Jack's comments about handling the situation and his critics. He does this in a most mature and logical manner. Good luck for your 100th Jack!!

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los
