No Danger?

So we made preliminary discussions and, based off that, he basically told us he had no interest in us.

Adelaide will be kicking themselves that they didn't trade him come the end of the year. We put plenty on the table, more than they'll get as compensation, and they rebuffed it. Stupid stuff.

That's good news imo, and so is this quote from the article: "Chief executive Peter Jackson is out of contract at season’s end but has also given assurances he will remain at the helm next year."

Not many actual quotes in the article.

I'm not particularly concerned. We're making a big play at someone for sure. If we are paying 100% of the cap this year we are front loading for sure. Expect us to go hard.

I'd love us to try and land two!

Senior assistant coach Simon Goodwin has the strong support of the club and will take over from senior coach Paul Roos in 2017, despite his involvement in Essendon’s supplement program.

Thanks Jay Clark.

It's the little things that bug me.

We're paying 100% of the cap?!?!

I don't care how front-loaded the contracts are, it's staggering that we've been able to pay a list that won 4 games last year 100% of the cap.

How can we possibly be paying our players the same as what Hawthorn and Sydney are paying theirs?

I was just wondering the same thing. Who is getting all the money? Can't think of too many who deserve it!

been saying that for years...no wonder so many players coasted along so happy....

I don't get why we would rule ourselves out so early in the process.

I get we don't want to be left at the altar but why not stay in contention a little longer?

Pretty sure it would have been because we received a firm no from Dangerfield's manager.

We are paying 100% of our salary cap? Jeez... I hope we are front ended to the max. Otherwise we are paying waaaaay over.

I had to laugh when they mentioned Hawthorn. Don't they have a salary cap?

We won't get a gun player, that's a fact we aren't good enough.

We might have a chance of getting Selwood if we over pay him enough.

Hogan signed longer term last year didn't he? Brayshaw just signed a new deal. Jones quite recently as well. All of those would be front-ended to free up some cash for the FA period this year and next. I'm sure there are a few targets who have already been spoken to about the opportunities they may find at Melbourne. It's now up to the team to produce some decent results and show that it's not a dead-end career move to come to us.

After discussions with his management? Sounds like he told them he's not interested.

maybe he is already signed in a preliminary way since last years silly season when he went OFF the radar?

id say geelong are the obvious front runners.

IMO, I see the Hawks, Cats & Pies as likely culprits. but I do see him coming back to Vic.

Treloar, Sloane, Shiel, just to name a few... Two of these are better than one Dangerfield.

I'm with you hh666

taking the SloLane as the mature, with a Shiel would B very pleasing ^_^

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

...... sheeds will have 'the inside info', to help his bombers back up. pryck's... just a little pryck & its all over.

I hope they all cop their fair share of 'needling' right thru this season, & bomb out.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
