Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

They have been doing that since Misso started I believe. They also detail how many hours sleep they had each night and a bit of other stuff.

This type of recording has very limited use. It's actually much better not to use it at all. Just ask Essendon. When it comes to drug injection regimes of over 15,000 injections it just doesn't seem to work. So it's much better not to keep records at all. That's what a Club with one of the biggest Football Dept spends does.

Just to show how professional it is now was speaking to a Demonland reader who said I should repeat these bits

Each morning the players text how they are feeling, ie sore, sick, injured, fine, etc etc, at the end of a training session they are asked to rate how they found it, on a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being easy, most today rated it an 8

Clubs were doing this decades ago. It is old. Doesn't mean it is bad. But it is nothing new at all. Daniel Harford spoke about doing these things at hawthorn and carlton, and Grant Thomas was roundly rubbished for introducing it at the Saints.

What is sad is that it's new to us. Like my mum being amazed at a smart phone.

It's not though. Dave Misson has been doing it for ages and probably the old fitness guys were doing some form of it.

Tappy not training?

What else is new?

I understand they were expecting him there Monday and he no-showed, and than did the same again today. Wouldn't expect to see him at many from now on..

A lot of players seem quite burned out at the club.. I'm sure it's a mixture of both personal frustration at not being good enough and the environment of the MFC but the few anecdotes I've heard recently suggest we still do have a way to go on a welfare level. Byrnes might be a handy hire, and it does seem to explain some of the Clark scenario.. Regardless sorry for going off track the first part re Tapscott does apply!

Follow where you're coming from, but LT was another wasted pick, another VFL standard player on the list.

Saty going to be on to you...

When you say a lot of players are burned out at the club do you mean current of former players? If current maybe you need to let the powers that be know so they can asses these players and try to help them.

Thanks for answering the diet question, Saty, it confirms what I had heard. Interesting that some love it and others think it is bananas...

I have heard that Port Adelaide led the way, and loved the results. What seems different now is the acceptability from a physiological point of view, rather than it being a 'diet' fad.

Changing topic, Tapscott as a double no show does not look good for his future with us. Maybe someone else has whispered in his ear...

On the matter of the new diet, I heard somewhere that Port Adelaide has been doing much the same thing for the last two seasons. If that's the case, then I hope we can replicate the same results on the field over the next couple of seasons.

yes, but just as long as we don't inject this new diet with needles

Whilst I'm not the biggest Neeld fan. I know for a fact Neeld had these im place aswell.

Neeld was a poor manager of men, and clearly not the brilliant coach everyone had him pegged for, but there is zero doubt in my mind he raised the standard of training in his time at Melbourne. 99% of the people on here hate the bloke, but that is something we should be thankful for.

Great to hear the boys have returned in good nick, Toumpas will be my one to watch in 2015 (aside from Hulk Hogan of course!). Really want him to do well.

I think it still has a way to go before being totally accepted, there are still many sceptics in the science and medical fraternity.

It definitely looks to give good results in performance and weight loss but the long term effects are not known.

Remember the previous diets athletes have been on were supposedly well researched and proven, now they have been turned on their heads. The diets that is...

Bet you hope that bananas don't ...

I hope Grimes lack of strength in the contest is not a result of his dietary regime If so "change your diet or take up another sport"

Yeah its a great diet but as you say its a bit hard to maintain. I've found I have to prepare meals days in advance or even cook and freeze foods.

Abundant energy, eating less and no hunger cravings. Weight loss is steady.

One dietitian told me it was ridiculous and another pushed me to it. PTs at my gym swear by it.

Let me guess. The dietitian who said it was ridiculous pulled out a food pyramid sponsored by Sanotarium.

This is understandable given we are on our third rebuild and despite improving last year we won only 4 games and finished the year poorly, not to mention the instability at Casey and issues with the coach. The positive news is that these areas are being addressed, e.g. Bringing in some fresh experienced players, valuing clubman types to develop culture and player welfare, e.g. Byrnes, Cross, Goodwin, Miller, and strengthening our Casey alignment by appointing Plapp.

Ultimately we need to start winning games but what is heartening is that our Club isnt shying away from the problems and is acting competently and deliberately to address them. The rest is up to the playing group.

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,
