Ha! Reckoned you would get it once the drugs wore off Biff!

On the subject.

I should write my own story of my battle with addiction.

but why bother.

I am currently drinking a Pinot by the fire and gambling on the Nags.

I recommend it to anyone.

I just read rpfc's post. He can be signed as a delisted FA. Surely he won't chance his arm in the draft. My bet is he has an offer on the table and a destination already determined.

Makes sense, why else would you reject a contract unless you had something else lined up.

Hope we had a word in his ear. If we haven't I will be angry in advance for not studying strong midfielders stuck in minor leagues because of star-studded midfields.

How is this possible? What is stopping us (or any other team) from offering a 2nd year player a huge contract to reject a contract from their current club and then sign with us as a free agent?

There's nothing stopping us. My feeling is that another club has beaten us to the punch and made him an offer he can't refuse. (I'm not sure if we had any interest in the first place.)

It works only when the club delists the player but if the player refuses to sign a contract and resigns from the club he isn't a DFA and therefore can't choose a club. Risky for a player to refuse to sign contract, hope he gets delisted so he can be a DFA and go to club of choice.

As per my earlier post - I don't think he 'should' be DFA but that article isn't clear.

The 1st lodgement is on the 31st October. The 2nd Lodgement is the one that he gets 'delisted' from for the ND.

So we will find out in a few days.

would? No, trust me mate, they are taking Membrey 100% Also does this mean Geelong have to choose between Newton or Blease?

You can't say that with so much certainty.

But I can tell you that St Kilda have said they were a chance to have taken Frost before Membrey, if Frost was in the PSD.

Believe me, Blease will be at Geelong.

Newton may also go there, but they'd both be signed as delisted FAs; the PSD doesn't come into it.

And where the hell does this groupthink come from that says Membrey is any good?

He's not. People are saying that the Saints will take him with pick 1 because it was reported recently that they were going to apply to the AFL to have him train with the club on the basis that they planned to take him with their pick 1 in the PSD.

He looks a goer. (It was tough re-watching the highlights from that first game.)

They're the highlights?

Am a tad underwhelmed...pass

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was
