Just me or is the MFC a sneaky chance of getting in the 8 if everything goes to plan next year?

I am with you Jimmy. Every year I firmly believe we can make the finals right up until after the first quarter of the 1st game of the season...then poof...all hope gone.

I suffer the same malady though at some stage Ross will have us on the verge of the 8 which will make us more attractive to prospectives

Could Blues force our pick 3 hand here. Garlett and pick 8 for pick 3?

computer says NO

swap Blease for Gartlett

or

swap pick 55 for Gartlett (& delist Blease!!!)

Blease plus 55 for Gartlett, and we'd still be in front.

He's out OOC guys, not going to take much to get him over the line. Will most likely be a late pick. PSD is always an option if they don't agree.

These highlights are up there with "Flash" Davey in 2004

If he still has pace it could be the bargain of the year.

Yes he has problems but a Roos incentive contract might just sort most of that out.

I never understood why Carlton wanted to delist him, I think MM is getting craz(ier) in his old age.

Garlett would be an excellent pick up for our fwd line.

HF: Howe - Dawes - Garlett

FF: Kent - Hogan - Pedersen

That could start to cause some headaches.

Kent and Garlett have the footskills and pace to really stretch some defences, and also put on a fair bit of pressure on the ball coming back out.

I am all for it.

Salivating at the prospect......with Roos guiding him, hopefully a new lease of life.

Anyone that can run down Boomer, average 38 goals a year and also very good in the air will be huge for us.

Massive win if we get him.... Pace and pressure to go with JKH and kent developing. Lumumba off half back getting it in quickly to give hogan and butters a chance.... Developing mid field..... This is the time of year to be a melbourne supporter

He's rotating through the midfield with Kent and Garlett.

To reply to/update my own post, our 4th round pick is actually 61.

Not sure if that'll be enough, even under the circumstances.

(BTW, just realised we got Stretch at pick 42. That could be a bit of a steal if he turns out to be a player).

Not sure but Pickering did mention that he knows a few blokes at the club so that could be right.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
