Very interesting.

But when are those so-called media professionals who run these pressers, and especially the post-game pressers, going to make the questions that are asked audible?

Spot on Roosy.....free agency will make the competition less uneven! Makes a good point only 2 players didn't end up @ their club of choice pre free trade commencing!

If ant broke don't fix it!

How good is it to have a respectable voice on all matters AFL just so happen to be a part of our club? Roos brings us relevance in a time when we probably don't deserve as much. He also is willing to have a crack at anyone. I wish I could intelligently tell people they are tossers like he does.

He really owns these types of pressers.

Made very sensible comments on Clark and pumped up his value.

Was blunt about the problems in free agency - about as blunt as he could possibly be.

Was clear about wanting people who want to commit to the club and be part of what he wants to do and essentially couldn't care less about Chip.

Really, really good presser.

One point that came across to me is that a three way trade between ourselves,Geelong and C'wood is very much on the cards. We get Lumumba, Geelong get Clark and Geelong gives up a player or pick to C'wood.

Agree 100 percent - the media conference are obviously not run by professionals. Professional media would always require the questioner to have a microphone.

Another bit of sloppy work by AFL.

He only wants blokes who know the real meaning of commitment.

Hope we end up with players like Jack at the Swans, ready to die for the cause.

Viney , Salem, Cross, Tyson etc.

He'll get them.

Things looking up.

Was happy to hear he wouldn't give up Picks 2 & 3 for a big fish.

Interesting he mentioned Toump as one of the young talents on the list. A show of faith perhaps.

I did notice that, but also that he was mentioned last and almost as an afterthought after guys like JKH, who are obviously ahead of him in Roos's mind.

We're in good hands :)

Love his swipes at the League.

I thought it was more of a swipe at the AFLPA, BB. I think he'll be safe from the wrath of AFL House in any case.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
