Potential Trades [Warning: Reading this thread may self-destruct]

They have nothing that we would want, other than what they would deem as untouchables...............Bontempelli, Liberatore, Wallis, Macrae. Maybe CLay Smith, but he's coming off a knee reco.

Clay Smith is the one that stands out to me. I've had a look through their list and nothing else stands out apart from those you've listed, which would be the untouchable players.

Again.... if a suitable trade came up for Garland, Roos would more than likely consider it, particulate as he enters his FA period next year. Garland might even get shopped around. He is not on the keep at all costs list. That's essentially what I first posted. But you can keep carrying on of you want.

BTW, comparing our defence with Haw and Syd... lol! Too funny.

I agree with this.

we have to shop now, for 2015, & the next 6 years, instant players but who aren't too old...

At 26Yrs, If Garland can attract the right deal, lets listen to it.

"The Western Bulldogs are looking at trading their First Round Pick (#5) and a player to Melbourne for the James Frawley Compensation Pick (If it is Pick #3) according to Brett Anderson from Inside Footy."

What player could they give us that would warrant us moving down to pick 6 from 3?

So how about:

Mitch the Birch for Geel 2nd round plus player

Herty L. and 3rd rounder for the Geel 2nd rounder.

Blease for a bin liner and bag of chips.

Frawley comp (3) to dogs for 6 and 2nd round pick

2nd round for Frost

Our 2nd round for Merritt the Ferret and 3rd round

6 for Mitchell and membrane

2 third round picks for Roo's special smokeys

Get brayshaw with 2, Stretch with 3 rd rounder, smokey with 4th.

No wonder Paul is going on holidays half way through. It will be done by then....

can we give them all low interest home loans with those picks as well? that should get it all over the line.

Pick 3 for Sam Reid & Membrey?

Doesn't address our midfield problem but set's our talls in stone.

I'd be happier if we swapped Sam Reid for Luke Parker...

Rumour has it it's Dalhaus (spelling?)

Had a sensational 2013, but really copped a hard tag in 2014.

I would take that for a downgrade from 3 to 6 also gaining Dalhaus and using Pick 2 on Brayshaw/Petracca. Pick 6 may also get you Brayshaw(if you get Petracca at 2) with Brissy/Pies needing key talls and Doggies also taking a KPT

That would be amazing for the MFC

Dalhaus just turned 22, and despite you alluding to him having a quiet 2014 he still averaged 21.4 touches, 4 tackles and kicked 17.23

Hes a gun and would add a lot of pace, spark and X factor to us

Assuming the Dogs took McCaetin at pick 3 we would still land some gold at pick 6 after taking likely getting Brayshaw at pick 2

Having listened to PR's draft interview you may be right on the money, Sweet Dee!

Add Billy Stretch, Harry O, Frost & Merritt and we are starting to look very good.

Your names plus mine provide really strength and balance all over the field!

Now we just need to land pick 3!

That's because PRs and my minds think alike :)

Pick 6 to Sydney for Mitchell and Membrey.

I would love it if we got Dalhaus. He has huge upside still and then we would still have a high pick for someone like laverde.

Really hope this comes to fruition! And please give us pick 3 for Frawley!

- Pick #3 to Doggies in exchange for Tom Liberatore & Pick #5, and exchange 2nd round picks, WB get the higher pick.

- Pick #5 to Sydney Tom Mitchell

- Pick #2 + a reasonable MFC player to Adelaide for Patrick Dangerfield, and exchange 2nd round picks from WB deal (does not bother MFC as it will be used on Stretch)

That I would be Happy with... Or Pick #2 for Petracca, if Dangerfield can not be acquired.

Don't think Doggies would give up their B&F winner like that. He's absolutely their future. They know it too.

Ha ha, no way libba is leaving the doggies if they have a say in it.

I realise that. But we can only dream.

Thanks for that.....I didn't realise what a good year he had....but, can we develop our own JKH to do the same role?

Dahlhaus wouldn't be traded. He's the face of all their junior membership campaigns and the supporters love him. He won't leave

Posted

The Doggies having an interest in pick 3 can only be a good thing for us. We can meet them with an open mind and see what they put on the table. Unless they've lost the plot, they'll realise it will take a good midfielder, like the aforementioned Dahlhaus, to get the conversation rolling. Whether later picks need to be exchanged or not, the player coming back needs to be of sufficient quality and youth to warrant moving down from 3 to 6.

Ok I must be the only one that thinks Dalhouse trade is silly? Is a small 174cm small forward/midfielder really what we are desperately after that we have to drop from pick 3 to 6. Good player but we are still crying out for more midfielders. Mitch Wallis would be my target. Impressive junior career like Dom Tyson who was overtaken by Jack Mcrea.

Tough inside 185cm midfielder with great disposal and strong leadership credentials. Like Tyson he would boost our midfield significantly.

Only 21 years old.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
