What's sad is your post only had text in it...

Never fear, Choke is here to pick up the slack

Sad gif incomming:

Sad Batman is sad because of the thread AND lack of Song gifs.

Double sad.

PS Song is my hero. I want to be just like him when I grow up. I used to idolise Biffen but I think he's been taking too much of the good stuff lately and it's gone to his head. Too much good stuff isn't so good after all.

PPS I'm contributing!

PPPS No I'm not.

Does anyone else think it's a bad omen when they mention his average of 23 games over the last 8 seasons?

I promise you we'll cut that by 1.

I don't know if it was mentioned anywhere in this thread already, but according to a tweet I just saw from Jack Trengove, round 1, 2015 will apparently be Lumumba's 200th game.

Just stumbled across this, like what I saw after the 26 second mark. We could use a lot more well directed aggression like that!

Absolutely love it. Exactly what we've been missing, hopefully not a once off. Edited by Ethan Tremblay

That's good stuff from Harry. Standing up to two of the biggest gorillas in the game. Shame he wasn't around when Pederson got clobbered by Merrett.

yeah he does. How big a deal do we make about it. I mean he will be running out having not played a senior game yet. Do we just stick it on the banner and say yep 200 games is a good milestone.

Anyway im looking forward to seeing what he brings to our backline. At least he is a runner so we may get it out of the 50 quicker.

I'm most impressed by the fact that he effectively shepherded for a teammate. You don't see that very often at MFC.

That's because our players are collectively sheep.

And we don't have the ball very often, looks silly shepherding your own teammate from tackling the opposition

Actually we do have the ball quite OFTEN, it's just what we do with it when we get it. We can win it all right but ...

He is definitely marches to the beat of a different drum but I have never had a problem with him. I don't take to some of his preaching but he doesn't go out and get himself messy, he doesn't go out and get punchy, he doesn't dummy spit on the ground. He seems to me like a a good team player and will mentor our younger players well on how the game needs to be played.

I am really looking forward to him in our colours and have zero problem with him being part of the leadership group - irrespective if he is or isn't it will not stop him being a leader as he has apparently already shown at training.

Lol. I'd walk away from the game if we recruit this tool. Deadset douch

Gee there is some prime posts in this thread ha ha :)

Posted

you walked away yet?

Obviously not, and I have since-in this thread- recanted that view. I can't remember too much opposition to that view, at that time though.

That's what I like about Harry, he doesn't buy into the group think.

The rest of the league is scared of Hall and Brown, but Lumumba just isn't seeing it, and both Hall and Brown backed down once they seen Harry wasn't intimidated.

Barry Hall and John Brown are cut from a completely different cloth to a guy like Wayne Carey, Ablett Jr.

Hall and Brown are all puff and bluff when it comes to throwing down, wheras Ablett and Carey would throw down, could throw down - and didn't care who it was.

I knew Barry Hall was never going to get in the boxing ring. He'd of been pressured to fight someone who hit back - and not blokes like Staker who aren't looking.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
