I hope people can now move on, it is now the best part of six months since it became glaringly obvious that Mitch Clark was finished as a player for the MFC.

Good luck with your life in the future Mitch I hope it improves if that means you play football again at some point in the future then I for one will be happy for you.

Now lets put or efforts into his replacement.

I loved that Mitch gave every single drop of effort to us every time he crossed the line and I will love him forever for it.

If moving back to Perth helps him deal with his depression and keeps him living a good life, then it hope it works.

If that means he ends up playing for a Perth club in the AFL so be it.

The paranoia from some people around here is seriously alarming. I understand that this opens up the possibility that Mitch may sign up for one of the WA clubs, I get that, but this is a guy who quit footy to focus on recovering from a mental illness. Moving to the city where his support base is, is surely a logical and expected outcome. I suppose it shouldn't any more, but it always surprises me when people get one piece of information and draw the worst possible conclusion that hurts us the most, when there are other outcomes that are just as likely that are far more innocuous.

His posted a couple of photos about him doing some running around his former junior club oval... Obviously more to do with keeping himself in shape rather then training for footy... I've given up hope of a Mitch return. We can only live in hope he does come back, interesting his coming back to melbourne though

I actually do give a rats tossbag.

He may have been a little disingenuous with how he got to our club in th first place but when he did pull on our jumper I thought he put his heart and soul into what he did.

I also thought his handling ( and the clubs handling) of his problems and departure were first class.

To top it all off - he just came across as a thoroughly likable bloke.

On hearing Chris Dawes speak about him on Saturday morning ( there was prolonged discussion about depression and footballers on 774) it only re-affirmed my admiration for Mitch.

So I give a rats tossbag and am interested in hearing how he is doing. Knowing a couple of people diagnosed with depression, if he can get himself well enough to play AFL ( if that is what he wants) and it happens to be for a WA team ( being much closer to his support network) then I for one will be very pleased ( as long as he doesn't play too well against us)

I heard somewhere that he actually really loves Melbourne (city) so I was a bit surprised when people said he was going to live in Perth. Ultimately the pipe dream of him playing AFL (for anyone) needs to be put out of his mind, if he starts to get on top of his issues it's still a long road back.

I read or heard somewhere that he is following a very gentle, progressive, long term, fitness program set up by the Club. Some of those words are mine as that's my impression of the program he's been given by the Club.
