I reckon Paul Roos knows more about footy than me.

Probably just a tad more I suspect. And me as well.

Put me on that list pls. At this rate he might end up getting coach of the year :)

I really liked the fact that this week when we were challenged we took our chances and stood up.

Last week we didn't do that against the doggies but we LEARNT from that and turned it around today

Well done boys.

I am one happy chappy

Start of the 3rd qtr. Absolutely turned around from the 1st half where they let it go at all costs. Then we had 2 x holding the ball against us (Salem's was totally ridiculous), 1 x 50m penalty and 1 x holding the man. At least 1 turned into an umpire's goal. Looked like they were trying to gift Richmind the game.

So proud that our boys didn't drop their heads, either then or in the last qtr under pressure.

Pretty sure they were all from the same Ump too. He had his Richmond undies on today. There was also a pretty obvious holding the man on Watts that was ignored during that little period. They were clearly trying ot break our momentum because we'd just scored the first two goals of the quarter.

Bernie Vince; how did the Crows let him go.

Dom Tyson; how did the giants let him go.

Chris Dawes; how did the Pies let him go.

BTW how safe is Dunne's marking in the back line; wtf happened to the old jumper puncher.

Cross how did theBulldogs let him go?

Was the Nev's late withdrawal a blessing in disguise?

His best work has been locking down dangerous small forwards, I don't consider Lloyd one of them yet so I didn't see a matchup for Nev out there.

While Toumpas wasn't bad and found some ball in a win which will do his confidence and overall enjoyment of life a world of good.

I reckon Toump got lucky and made sure he took advantage of the opp today. Was a little stop start at times but generally worked hard and used the ball well which you would expect. One of our most efficient ball users.

The only role i could have seen for Jetta in today's match (easy in hindsight) would have been as a small (defensive) forward with the big focus on defense and running with/shutting out the run off half back and through the middle of Houli. Was involved in many chains of running/creative play for them and one of the Tiger's best today IMO. Would he be capable of hitting the scoreboard as well for us? I still see Jetta learning his craft and earning his place (hopefully) in the seniors down back just as Roos seems keen on..... for now anyway.

Ahhh! I haven't tasted shiraz as good as this for a very long time. It's well aged of course! I've been saving it for a night like this.

Ox i reckon we stood up last week as well. We just wasted too many of our chances/possessions coming inside 50.

IF we were better at the delivery i50 last week we would have won that game by a similar margin to today''s game IMO. Clean that up a little, like we seemed to in that second half today, and we hit the scoreboard a little more for a few more close wins.

Give them some credit too, the doggies were also good at capitalising on a few of those poor entries/turnovers coming i50 with some very clean/classy link up plays and goals on the rebound.

And what about Riley? First itime I've seen him and I probably know less about him than most here, but I had a sense that whenver he had the ball something good would come of it. And mostly that's what happened. It's probably way too soon to call him 'Mr Relileyable?'

I am sure the rise in our previously substandard players is due to leadership - Dawes and Cross have been pivotal in this. I sure Watts and Pedo have responded to Dawes in particular. It's no coincidence that the big turnaround started when he came back into the side.

Need now to lure Tex to stand beside him and September here we come.

Somehow it'll have something to do with Michael Newton.

Yeah well just on "JUICE" may as well spread some more good news, after his shocking run with injury at Norwood, he finally hit his straps and was BOG kicking 8.1 against Adelaide on Friday night, Good to see after some bad luck with injury!

toump tried hard today.

i'm a perennial critic, but some of his kicks were great, and his tackling and defensive running much improved.

he still made a few mistakes and there were a couple of instances where he'd get the ball in space and just...stop. he needs to back himself to run and carry - it's why we recruited him.

He is just not up to it! Period!

Did you enjoy that, or the Demons win more?

Just have to love Demonland even after a great win we have certain posters trying to push their agendas rather than enjoy the win.

They seem to be much happier when we lose and can take pot shots at specific players.

All I can say is I choked up Today , it Seems the Drought is Over and All I can say is it feels ##### GREAT!!!!!

I finally have something to "cheer about again" and best of all so do my kids, who have stuck by the MFC regardless of the Shite they have had to put up with till now!!

Once again the Melbourne Football club can hold their head high and anyone who plays us knows now they will have to earn their win ,

and that's the way it should always be !!!!! :),

Has a good kicking technique but his ball use is one of the things he's been sent back to Casey to work on. He hasn't been picking the best options and hasn't been confident enough in the application.

As I said great win, its not about pot shots, its about analysing the game, Don't fool yourself we had some poor players today!

I am enjoying the win but in the scheme of things bigger pictures form. Its all about improving your list and becoming competitive for longer! We still have some gaps to be brutally honest, but enjoying the win, no doubt!!

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
