I'm amazed the players don't otherwise take themselves to the game.

If you're a forklift driver do you go and watch other forklift drivers move pallets on your day off? In saying that..I know what you're saying...

that is actually a smart idea. Its the 2 teams that are top of the ladder and where we have to get to. Hopefully they saw teammates back each other up, man up tackle and put a lot of pressure on.

Would have been a great 360 with 2 losing coaches on. I suspect Bomber would have been more disappointed than Roos.

Some do, some don't. Some don't like watching other sides, some for superstitious reasons, some just don't like it.

Regardless, the real value in this is not simply that the players saw a good game - they can do that at any time really. It's the act of Roos bringing the team together and demanding that, at once, straight after a loss, they be subjected to, and be asked to critically learn from, the high watermark of the game right now. It will do a lot more from them when it's required of them by Roos and they do it as a group.

But if your as bad a fork lift driver as Melbourne is at playing football then maybe you should take a few lessons from the best

If you're the type of player that doesn't like watching other teams for "superstitious reasons", you can right well F off!

How the hell are you supposed to scout your opponent and truly understand how a team plays if you're only going to watch, say, a few minutes before you play them?

I was thinking myself watching the Cats v Hawks that I hoped every MFC player watched it all.....and hopefully Roos will sit them all down together at one of their "planning sessions" or whatever they do behind closed doors when not actually doing physical stuff, and go through parts of the game demanding that they understand and commit to what is required for success. It was an uncompromising game, exciting for the most part (other than that bloody kicking backwards in keepings-off ) and if our guys are committed to improving their own and the team's performances they could do well to emulate what they saw.

Here's hoping though realistically not really expecting

Said unfair to focus just on watts......have been trying him in a lot of positions as they have been trying a lot of people in different positions & they might have to look at themselves (coaches) they might be doing the wrong thing. Bomber also reiterated that he gives players lots of chances
