Good to see we are measuring our expectations. Jack watts says hi

Hopefully Watts follows his example of taking the game on, and play on your natural instincts. We've seem glimpse's of what he is capable of, time to put it all together.

Really interested to see how JKH backs up next game, we've been screaming for a small forward with goal smarts for years.

Reckon there is abit of Matty Stokes about this kid? maybe Christiansan?

Stokes for sure. Neat kick, little bit of pace, gets to the right spots all the time.

Christensen is a much more inside player, he's not bad in space but his real talent is stoppages.

Just wondering what others who have been down to training thought about this......

JKH is the most intense trainer I've seen at a Melbourne training session. He trains as if he has Roos watching his every move. His hands at ground level are ridiculous at full pace, lightning quick, his skills are very sharp, and his work rate from what I've seen is the highest on the track. His highlight reel from last year showed a kid who played on at all costs and backed his pace. Combine that with our lack of successful small forwards and it's something to get excited about.

Just something to be positive about after a difficult decade. And I know positivity is a rare occurrence on here and will probably get picked off by the haters.

JKH is on fire!

From reading the above link we are obviously blessed to have this dead gorgeous fine young man as one of our neighbours

Would the club support him, if he wanted to continue his acting career? Do we expect him to give up acting?

Acting** can be pretty time consuming, so I would say it would be very much on the back burner if he wishes to reach and stay at top level AFL, which he appears to do.

**(unless you are referring to a certain #18 ex Essendon full forward of course, who combined footy and acting extremely well)

So I suppose we have our PSOs to thank for the fact that a young black man can at last walk alone in a deserted train station tunnel late at night without fear of reprisal.

No you can thank our stars that we have another indigenous star on our list who is the best think since Davey and Farmer combined!

Yeah, Paul Van der Haar was great in Titanic. Not so keen on him in Indepenence Day. ;)

For those who can remember big Bob Johnson. He was the king of the actors and could play footy pretty well as well.

Congrats JKH on his first goal in AFL footy, in only his second game (and his second time as the sub)! Even had another shot or two but couldn't get it through the big sticks.

Would've been great if his teammates moved their ass and came over to congratulate the kid, given how special a moment that would've been for him. Must be asking too much!

Was definitely the spark missing in the first quarter. I'd be disappointed if he still hasn't earned a starting position for next week in Roosy's eyes. Really need to use that sub jacket as a rocket up the ass for players who aren't delivering (Trengove??)

Completely agree - so it's worth adding that Frawley came all the way from the backline to congratulate him along with two others who happened to be nearby (and whose identities I've now forgotten). So well done JKH and Frawley.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    POSTGAME: Rd 13 vs Collingwood

Once again inaccuracy and inefficiency going inside 50 rears it's ugly head as the Demons suffered their second loss on the trot and their fourth loss in five games as they go down to the Pies by 38 points on Kings Birthday at the MCG.

    GAMEDAY: Rd 13 vs Collingwood

It's Game Day and the Demons are once again faced with a classic 8 point game against a traditional rival on King's Birthday at the MCG. A famous victory will see them reclaim a place in the Top 8 whereas a loss will be another blow for their finals credentials.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
