Dawes must surely be on nearly his last chance.

He has to play by rd 6 or bye bye it just might be!

So what if he is a good fella or really disappointed, we need to toughen up all you overforgiving petals.

This club must no longer be a waiting room for those who are finished and hang around for a full contract payout.

Either play some consecutive games or retire !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Having so called patience has not worked so lets now get tougher and demand performance!

Train hard, play competitively or off to VFL.....................! Permanently.

How about you go and pick on Bail.

If you want to improve this club you can get rid of Nicho, Pedo, Byrnes, Bail, Jetta etc. first.

This post would be alot more suited to the club's Facebook page.

Exactly why we don't trade Fitzy. You're rarely going to have your best 22 on the park

at anytime. Clarke, Hogan and Fitzy would still be daunting for any backline.

He's missing the start of pre-season. He hasn't done an ACL.

Perspective people. Perspective.

That's it, he should still in good shape come round 1.

Kieren Jack didn't start running last year will mid Jan.

One of our problems, and often cited in getting rid of Bruce, Junior etc., is the absence of off-field leadership from experienced players. No matter how many coaches we have, they don't/can't bring that. Dawes does - in spades.

Doesn't justify in itself a huge salary, so yes, it's essential that he plays. Hopefully this will sort out his niggles, and get him ready for a solid year next year. An important player for us, makes the whole forward setup look different, and he's a great example to players like Hogan, Fitzpatrick, Howe etc. as to what they need to be doing on the field.

I would say a bigger problem was on field leadership and ability of senior players just wasn't up to the mark. Hopefully this is behind us now but we do need Dawes providing leadership on the ground.

One of the sanest posts on this yet.

That said it is disappointing for us all, none the least Chris himself, that we haven't (yet) seen him and Clark together in the R&B.

I am sure he will do all the non weight bearing fitness stuff harder than anyone to get ready to run asap once cleared to do so. That is the sort of guy he is.

and as I recall young KJ did the odd good thing later in the season.

Fickle bunch we are. Dawes plays a good game "Make Dawes captain" "Worth every cent" "Collingwood should never have let him go"

Dawes has a delayed start to pre-season "Dawes can't get on the park" "What a waste of a trade" "Did Collingwood get Grundy with our pick OMG"

The article says he'll resume training before Christmas. Months and months before Round 1 is even in the picture. Take a chill pill.

He may have only played 12 games this year but (to me at least) it's hardly wrist-slitting time.

4 injuries in under a year is not good. That doesn't mean anybody is blame, it's just really not good.

Suprise suprise he injured again.

12 game and goals in 2013 and people want to make him Captain.

Maybe with that record he should be the Senior Assistant Coach.

Sorry but I not a big Fan of the guy yet, maybe if he actually plays regular games and kicks goals I may be.

LMAO at all the people on here having meltdowns

Dawesy will be fine, and we are a better team with him out there

The morons calling him a dud are absolute clueless

Posted

Not ideal, but he's not a rookie and has a number of preseasons under his belt. If he's back in full training by January he has months up his sleeve until round 1.

Posted

Ideally Clark doesn't ruck for the first month or so of the season anyway in which case Fitzy is back up ruck and Hogan and Clark the key forwards if Dawes isn't ready. That's the silver lining.

Either way having a luxury of 4 guys into 3 spots is a good thing and Dawes getting a reasonably routine surgery now he should be fine to go by round 1 anyway.

No details about the type of arthroscopy but remember Stevie Johnson played a game only a few weeks after having a knee scope one day.

Barely got on the park in his first two seasons st Collingwood. And spent the last one there with injuries. Only played two years without missing a number of games.

MFCSS Has struck early !

For God's sake people...He has three...almost four months to be right. The man has had an arthroscopy. Its a clean up operation. I reckon about 60% of players have some form of arthroscopy in the off season. He will be right to go next year by round 1.

Possibly but what about rounds 2 to 23?

The guy spends more time on the sidelines due to injury then he does as a actual player

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
