WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - DANIEL CROSS

I'm not sure a Roos appointment will help Cross become a Dee.

I suspect Roos will back himself to recruit a similar type that is 6 or 7 years younger.

Anyone in mind?

And both should be gone.

And they are both likely to be here next year.

Both are best 22 with the list we have.

I don't think more kids will help our kids develop. And unless Spencer is seen as the future and we find a small forward - they are going to get games.

Guess it is up to the new coach...

Another one is do we look at Kerr, apparently on the outside at WC. Injury prone, off field questionable but is a great player who can really gut run and show our younger guys what it really takes to make it. 'Pennant', you would know the pluses and minuses on this. Your view??

Not a chance. If there's a more injury prone player in the league I can't think of one. The most benefit he could give us is on the field and it's perpetually 50/50 (hm, sounds familiar) he gets on there.

I think Roos could still go after Cross as well as some younger types. The senior player void needs to be filled and Cross still has quality.

The beauty of an appointment like Roos is that players may suddenly, remarkably, want to come to Melbourne.

Love this idea and all for it.!

Im still but shocked they got rid of him as he was still playing some good footy!

Fanatical trainer, experienced, tough and hard, ultimate professional, leader and a great role model as he is highly regarded for being a great family man.

If Cross joins us (which i think he will) watch Viney and Toumpas improve hugely next year!

Christ! Any opportunity to bag our players (and this is not directed solely at you).

Fairs fair..it's more the decision to recruit them not then, personally., however they are both too old..

I think it's time for a month ban lol

Self imposed!!

Bruce McAvaney special comments..... averaged 22.6 disposals and 4.4 tackles in games this year (which was actually his lowest since 2004)

Very happy with this.

I've been calling for this to happen since early in the season.

Couldn't find a better bloke for a young team like ours.

I like the way we are reportedly going about it also, looking at giving him options for his post-playing career.

Two year deal sounds pretty good. Make it happen Demons!

1 year deal please unless only the first year is for playing. We look at Pedersen, Byrnes, Jamar all with year(s) to run on their contracts and it looks stupid. Even Rodan got 2 years some how.

    DERAILMENT by KC from Casey

It wasn’t quite a trainwreck although at times, it sure looked like one, so I’ll settle for “derailment”.  The trip to Brighton Homes Arena in Springfield outside the back of Brisbane might not exactly be the same place where Homer Simpson’s family resides but, if you listened closely to the utterances of the Casey Demons fans both at the ground or watching via livestream, you could hear lots of groaning and plenty of expressions of “D'oh!” reverberating in the background, particular

It’s game day and the Demons return to Melbourne to play the Eagles at the MCG for the first time in over a decade. A win keeps the Dees finals hopes alive whereas a loss will almost certainly slam the finals window shut.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
