Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Could we possibly get Shiel and Buntine or Bugg for pick 2? They can keep 9..

I hope we play hard ball, seems like GWS really want pick 2.

A good on-ball player and a pick in the top 10 in exchange for our pick 2 would not be a bad choice for us.

Reading the plethora of posts regarding numerous on-ball prospects and their 'rankings', it would seem that there is no agreement on who we should/would choose with pick 2.

Opinions are varied and cover a range of youngsters. Who is to say that Aish, said by many to be the best of them, would give better value to us than a good player from another club and pick 9 or 10?

Whatever their decision, I have full confidence in Paul Roos et al to do a good deal for us.

Yep - definitely a pattern there.

Myers is concerningly big.........

What 191 and 92KGs???

Watts is 196 and 92kgs and he looks skinny

Hogan is 195cm and 102kgs

Pendlebury is 191cm and 91kgs. he goes alrighth

Goldsack is 193cm and 92kgs

He might be big...for Melbourne because he is. But its hardly concerning. Its exactly what we need.

I agree and if people think Myers is big, Josh Kennedy is 188cm and 100kg - that is enormous for a midfielder.

Let's not forget Goodes at 194cm and 100kg though he is a once in a generation kind of player.

I was just joking around.... suggesting that he could have been one of the Bombers lab rats.

Plus there is a lot of size/weight difference when you are talking 5cm - Watts doesn't look like this:

I saw Pedo play against the Cats at skilled this year for Casey and he was so dominant playing at full back that I was in shock. Nobody could touch him and he was hitting 60m clearing balls lace out to targets coming out of the back 50.

But every time I saw him play for Melbourne he was a shadow of that player.

Not sure why he can't make the transition but I hazard a guess it's all between the ears. He did the same thing at North.

Maybe Roos can help him.

Be careful... Magner and Couch probably dominated that day too and look where they are now

not necessarily.

self belief can be a mysterious thing. it'll arrive, when your ready.

many AFL people must think he has talent, so we need to help him develop 'it' into production.

I'd back the Roos team as much as any going, to slowly build him into a strong player... time we have, & it will eventually tell all.

Yes, I think we could do with another big bodied defender. I think when we play sides with two or three big attacking options eg where the Swans are now, I think we are better off having Garland as the fourth tall after Frawley, McDonald and yes Pederson. As good a player as Garland is, I think he can, like Rivers, struggle against big opposition. Pederson is also big enough to match up on the resting ruckmen as well. If Roos could get him to play to his potential he may become a handy player for us.

Mind you, ALL teams will have the same problem matching up on us this year. There will be very few who have the cattle to go toe to toe with Clark, Hogan, Howe and Dawes, and throw in big Max and it will be a nightmare for opposition backs. It also goes to emphasize the importance of getting a classy crumbling forward. I'm sure they are looking, and probably have someone lined up in the draft ot the PSD.

This all of course pre supposes we fix our mid field otherwise we won't get it down there often enough to score anyway. I think the signs so far are good and we will make real progress between now and December on that score.

Dunn and Pederson in the midfield... Rumour thread or comedy festival?

Might as well trade pick 2 and run Bootsma and and Spangher through the middle as well, have us all rolling in the aisles.

Pick 2 would not suffice for Sir Matthew Spangher. Hogan and Viney would need to be the steak knives to get the deal over the line. Once in a lifetime player

I always saw Garland as the 3rd tall back, c an pinch as a 2nd but only on right matchups. these days its more likely to find that tho.

people are angry with Pederson because he came via the loss of ribvers & moloney & the retirement of Green etc. so the timing of all this is used to frown on pederson. I'd like to know how much he's on as I don't think it would be that much.

I don't think he cost us much really, & if the worst he is, is depth, than thats OK. we need mature bodied depth as well. I'm hoping for more from him.

Not that it's his fault, but I'd say his three year contract has played a role in the frustration of supporters. There's also the fact that he's had bugger all impact onfield too.

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.
