I never rated the guy at the Pies, but he makes a huge difference to this side! Will be even better when Hogan and (if he ever recovers) Clark come back into the side.

Love this guy!

Longsleeves. Should be more of it. Schwartz, Yze now Dawes. I like it

Looking at Collingwood today they made a big mistake here, Cloke is their only forward target. Lynch is useless and Dawes was such a good foil, their small forwards could really benefit from his attack on the footy.

And he kicked nearly half the wobbles score today. Can a weekend of sport get any better.Dees by 3,wallabies by 1,Carlscum lose.

If Stosur and Richie Porte can kick on .............heaven

Must admit I got this one wrong. I wasn't overly keen on chasing him. Seems to thrive on the extra responsibility of being one of the leaders and more experienced guys.

Add Watts and Howe to the list and we might just have a forward line.

Understatement of the century

We already have a forward line anyway

Backline too

Just need to sort the midfield

Excellent tonight, great understanding of the game and brings others in to it, can't wait to see a full Melbourne Forward line next year. He takes so much pressure off jack too it will improve him no end.

Interesting to hear Watts talk about him on the radio after the game. Reckons he really impacts the team and is massively underrated. He said it affects the team on the ground even when he just goes to the bench for 2 mins! Always talking to the players and advising and cajoling and is big influence off the ground as well. Just about everything we wanted in a recruit I think.

Dawes was universally bagged by Pie supporters over the last two seasons. They where to thick to accept he had a hand injury that was restricting his output. Look back at the 2010 finals series and you will see what an importand contributor he was to there flag. Reckon he was involved in just about every goal in the GF replay and he was also the bloke at the bottom of the pack that fed the ball to Travis Cloke that tied up the 1st 2010 GF. We have landed a ripper here, can't wait until he carves The Pies up on QB in the coming years. Dawes will help form a very potent forward line from here.

I knew he'd go back and slot that goal in the last quarter.

But what I noticed more about tonight was his leadership. At half time he spoke to the group before walking off and when the dogs were coming back I just saw him speak to the ruckman and the midfield then ran back to the forward line.

Im rapt we got him

As the colliwobbles kicked the second goal today to go 13 points in front my pies mate said, geez we miss Dawes, q stick is a spud....and they went on to lose, and we win, and Dawes does well. There is a god!

Dawes makes em walk a bit taller.

Nextyear Hogan deep, Dawes in the middle of the fifty, and Clark Centre half forward.

Watts and Howe roaming wherever they want between wing and half forward.

Woohoo!

We MUST make sure we fix our midfield. We'll beat the Bulldogs' of the league, but won't get near even the mid-table teams with our current midfield. It lacks experience and class.
