WE HAVE NO ONE TO COME IN THAT WILL MAKE US A BETTER TEAM.

Fitzy great bring him in and let him catch a cold up forward, we went inside our forward 50m arc 25 times, until we can get players that can win the footy and get it inside our forward 50m arc 50-60 times a game we have no chance competing over the next 2 weeks.

In Pederson, Strauss, Fitzpatrick

Out: Seller Nicholson Mckenzie Terlich*

In: Kent Blease Strauss Davis

I dont want to see anymore washed up has beens at our football club. Why give Pederson, Rodan, Gillies games? They couldnt even get a game at their old clubs and they stink here!

Play youth, its the only way forward.

I will not attend games while Neeld is at the helm. I know where, and where not to invest my energy and emotions.

It would be good to see a poll of how many supporters will not attend games while Neeld is at the helm.

I reckon about 40% of members would refuse to attend games to watch this current team and regime. Maybe higher.

Although its good that Neeld thinks everything is going exactly to plan. FMD the guy is a [censored].

You are a tool Tonatopia.

No coach in the history of footy could be expected conjure a win from our young list against a matured and hardened Premiership contender.

Fitzy has been consistent and probably earned his spot now at the expense of Big Max who was down yesterday

Strauss comes in for Terlich who will be a loss with his effort and attack on the ball

Pedersen for Sellar because he is more mobile and should be given the job on Roughead IMO, Sellar was good against Richmond and it's only a change for match ups

Rodan in for Bail who is clearly devoid of confidence and

Ins: Fitzpatrick, Strauss & Pedersen

Outs: Gawn, Terlich (Inj), Sellar & Bail

Quote from the coach:

“Jesse Hogan, who can’t play yet, kicked five goals and we’ve got another young player, who has missed a lot through illness and injury in Jack Fitzpatrick, and he’s had a really good month. He’s going to put his name up for senior selection this week,”

Sounds like Fitz could be in line for a call up finally. He also rated Kent's game, although I was under the impression he didn't do much. It'll be a big ask for the Fitz to go up against the Hawthorn defence if he does get picked.

If you really interrogate this post, and you accept it was written by a supporter of the club, it doesn't actually make much sense.

u talking half time or full time?

I expect a bit of a rebound from the team, like we did against Richmond. They'll stand up for themselves for a half and wind up going down in the third pretty badly.

The difference between an fan and a supporter?

i interrogated it but it wouldn't talk or give up its men! Enough of that.....I'd bring in Joel McDonald

a tool and taking the line of not attending games only helps to push that debt we are accruing up further. if everyone had kept comng to matches instead of throwing their toys out of the cot the club would have an extra few hundred thou in revenue this year. nice one tona. get along and support your club. if i could sack neeld i would . but i cant . but i can attend games and try and be part of the solution and NOt part of the problem.

all those supporters out there thinking along the same lines pause and think what you are actually achieving.... nothing except further damaging the clubs already perilous financial position.

if another 10 thou supporters paid up their cash to go to the games and support the club that money could go toward paying a good coach so we could sack Neeld. .how people dont get it is so far beyond comprehension. small minded pack mentality. the bane of human existance.

be bigger than that Dees

Does the MFC actual coach its players! I thought it was developing a new system where its players just rock up to the ground on game day and do their own thing, but only if they wanted to. It appears under this system the MFC must require its players to not worry about the scoreboard and the use of inexperienced players with out any mentors or any proper guidance or leadership is a must. But for this new method to work properly there must be multiple so called coaching staff, not that their needed to do any work other then ensuring NO ONE can be hold accountable for anything. The more of them the better and I think this particular function is officially called PASSING THE BUCK!

Personally what interest me the most about the MFC these days is not the game itself but the after game press conferences the man of the hour "Mark". What he requires at these press conferences is an escort (one of the players to hold his hand), to always look totally disinterested, make statements like "We all know ...", "We talked about ...", "Its not about me but the players ...". "We have many inexperience players ...", "But we trained well in the off season and we play well in the pre season ...". The key here is for him to always say WE and never ME as he would loss points for talking any responsibly. It so important here not to say anything the media or MFC Supporters actually want to hear, this is the important part of the press conference.

With all this happening why would anyone not want to watch a MFC game or after game press conference, as its better then any soap opera I have ever seen!

It costs me nothing to get into the game - so the club loses no money when I choose not to go.

I won't be there. Far too much certain misery, as I see it.

Man up and tackle, shepherd and break out - that's the most basic formula for Aussie Rules as I see it. But that's not currently what Melbourne does. Why not? The players? The coach? I give up trying to sort that one out - but either way, there is a failure of players-and-coach to produce the most basic things of football, and watching it is extremely, and unnecessarily, frustrating. I like football; and this rubbish ain't football.

I'll be back when they (coach and players) show by their actions and their words that they are aiming directly and centrally for these most basic fundamentals of success. Until then, I cannot find the page they are on, let alone join them on it. And I can't see why you'd think I'm hurting the club - to me, it's them (coach-and-players) hurting the club, and hurting me. If the AFL get involved, I'm betting it will be to say "how about playing football...?"

Nice and easy I think.

In: Strauss, Fitzpatrick, Pedersen

Out: Nicholson/Bail, Seller, Jetta

It reduces our run slightly, but it gives us much more versatility to have extras able to pinch hit in the ruck and also significantly better disposal. Pedersen goes back in place of Seller, Fitzpatrick into the forward line and Strauss to replace Nicho/Bail and hopefully kick it better. I love Nev, but from all reports he was putrid today.

We are losing games out of our non existent mid field.

Not sure how getting rid of another 2 mids will help us.

Btw I don't rate bail. Have been waiting for the day where our depth forces him out.

I'm afraid ill be waiting for a while

I expect us to lose this game by only 35 points with 100% effort and application, and Neeld survives Monday's board meeting.

Then we come out and lose by 100 points on Queens Birthday, and the vicious cycle continues.

As for the Ins - Fitzpatrick and Pederson (and maybe even Rodan) should be rewarded for solid VFL form.

Bail must come out. He's been woeful for most of the year, and quite frankly is a very average league footballer.

I wonder if Couch would help our midfield later in the year?

I'm not sure that's correct. I seem to recall hearing that the club gets a payment for every person who goes through the turnstile whether they pay or not. And that includes MCC members. If anyone knows, it would be helpful to have the facts.

Yup. Numbers at the ground translate to dollars both directly and indirectly. Not only are they paid for bums on seats, but more people at games = more money from sponsorship deals.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
