6 N Jones, who is just about our only AFL level player.

5 Viney, who's as good a young kid as you could hope for

4 Terlich, who gave us some run and layed a few great tackles

3 M Jones, who is already one of our better mids

2 McDonald, who has the makings of a brilliant CHB if he can just get his Joel MacDonald-like errors out of his game

1 Bail, who showed effort and courage in the face of great adversity. Hopefully he can continue his career without damaging his post-AFL life.

Honourable mention to Mitch Clark who kicked three goals from limited oppotunitys.

Terlich? Had a whole collection of really awful clangers.

For mine, I'd slot Tom McDonald into the list instead of Terlich. Really battled hard all day, won a lot of contests and gave a lot of run, and kept being let down by lack of support.

I can't believe my eyes.

Terlich?!!??!

Made our bottom 6, for mine.

Turned it over almost every single time he had the ball! He appeared to have no idea what he was doing, often taking off in a beeline before not knowing where he was going.

Wow.

Anyway:

Considering how poor we have been at getting the ball, at least Terlich went and got the bloody thing.

I agree about Tom McDonald. He looks amazing at times but was flogged one-on-one today. His aerial defence needs work

Terlich was a goer and holds his place Tapscott may have got a vote but for the three clangers in a row in the third right in front of me. Cheers to Davey and Howe for a couple of highlights that got me off my seat!

Terlich - Good ball use.

I thought Grimes chopped it up alot today, rather indecisive. Trengove still looks slow - was outrun by Cox at one point.

We definitely were not watching the same game.

He had a couple of clangers which stood out but in general his ball use and run was much better than what we've been getting from down back, not that it would be too hard.

Nobody could sneak Garland or Frawley in, despite leaking about 13 goals between them

Play them in our forward line and hope they leak some our way for a change

Nathan Jones - 28 disposals; 1 effective. Not for me.

Ed: 1st? qtr, Grimes leaves his man in centre of ground to man up; calls/points to his man to be covered....N Jones nearest player on his own....didn't/wouldn't/couldn't cover...man got the ball...QED

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
