If deegirl is truly on the money to her words then why should we worry? Read her words carefully. She does not mention the club being charged. If its just these individuals who disgraced our club then I would be overjoyed.

No, she clearly mentions the club as well as the individuals.

Perhaps the Mayans were right, and this is the apocalypse. I can picture Wilson's headline now: "Demons charged with tanking; Schwab causes world to end".

I've watched Sons of Anarchy episodes over and over again and never once does Alverez of any of his Mayans gang mention anything about the end of the world. .

But in episode 4 Alverez did say " we will not find any gold whilst Bailey insists on playing that lummox Paul Johnston on Nathan Brown"

So most of you guys are happy to be thrown out of the next 4 drafts for not co-operating with the AFL.

I'd rather co-operate with the AFL and work out a penalty that won't cripple us.

We are not 100% innocent in all this.

This one is getting up there with the most ridiculous things I've read on here. Let's see the evidence first.

The Afl has obviously got some hard core evidence if they're going to charge us.

Eg- emails, stories collaborating etc...

I reckon we're stuffed.

Therefore plead guilty, WORK with the AFL for a fair and minimal punishment and let's put this sorry affair behind us and focus on 2013.

The doomsayers have the world ending in a few days. The AFL are going to miss the boat on this one, Times up!

In the meantime i've stocked piled up on the popcorn.I'll watch either event from my comfy chair.

Well said BB. Some of us are way in front of the starter's pistol here.

If we get charged we get 7 days to respond & I would expect review the evidence. Simple if they've got us covered we negotiate, if the evidence is just subjective or weak then we fight. Time for the Fink to earn his money!

Instead of taking this to court and losing (which being the Melbourne football club, we will), the club should be sitting down with the afl this week and working on a plea bargain. Loss of our first 2 picks next year, a $200k fine and a fake apology (because we all know Carlton, West Coast, Collingwood etc tanked as well)

We cannot afford a serious punishment.

You don't think 2 first picks and $200k fine is a serious punishment?

I agree. Why would we negotiate 2 first round picks? I say give Bailey 12 months, Connolly 6 months (because of his ill-advised comments), Schwab 2 months and maybe, just maybe, a first round pick (which hopefully won't be anywhere as low next year)!

No negotiated surrender. We did nothing that contravened the rules and until given evidence to the contrary, should be absolved of all guilt.

I think the Courts should all close down. According to some on here, if you are charged you are guilty. Bugger having a hearing and testing the prosecution evidence, not to mention presenting your own.

Oh and by the way, we haven't been charged with anything yet.

IF, we are charged and after a hearing found guilty, the AFL should hire a lot of lawyers as they are going to be inundated with claims to recover lost bets by punters and bookies.

I don't deny Deegirl's claims here, i've seen some of her past work on 'ology, but I seriously doubt that anything will happen until after NY. The last thing the AFL would want is a sh!t fight over the Christmas/NY break, you could perhaps say it's a tactic to make our job all that more difficult in a defense strategy but it's terrible publicity for the AFL to do it at this time.

BTW is this one of the signs of the apocalypse?

Posted
It is interesting that on the 'ology site this is all she posted. "Just posted this on Demonland - looks like the AFL will officially charge MFC, Connolly, Bailey & Schwab with tanking."

Nothing else and no replies at all !!!!!!!

And that is because

1. We believe her and

2. It is only a charge that will be defended

so really nothing to talk about yet.

Maybe make that any first round pick we have in the first 6. If we get a later 1st rounder than that we are obviously not tanking. And it would actually create incentive for us to finish 12th or higher and retain our 1st rounder.

Let me get my head around this. An anonymous poster (as are we all) claims to have “sources” that have given her an exclusive bombshell concerning the MFC. This source is apparently superior to any that the mainstream media have since they have made no comment. It also apparent that Caro, who would give her left [censored] for this exclusive, has been scooped.

Remarkably this rumour draws around 100 responses many of which give it credence.

If that isn't silly enough, some are discussing what penalty we will get.

You have got to be kidding me!
