What is this nonsense that Damien Barrett is spouting about Lynden Dunn being signed by GWS tomorrow as an unrestricted free agent? It is being reported in the Off Season Facebook site.

It does sound like nonsense. Dunn doesn't fit the age profile GWS are going for at the moment (i.e. young kids and grizzled vets). Rare is the middle-aged player on the GWS list. Outside of Giles, I don't think there is anybody on their list between 24 and 28. Steve Clifton is 24 but he's a monty to be delisted. It would be a strange decision for GWS to go for Dunn at this point in time.

Also, I thought Dunn played well enough to get a new contract and I hope that he signs on soon. I guess MFC are waiting to see what happens with other trade/FA movements before doing anything.

Every time I see a new reply to this thread I get excited that its a new list of rumours from Nudge, only to be slightly dissappointed (still some great posts).....Coincidentally sorry to anyone that my post has just made this happen to.

Is it bad that all i could think of was that we could get some decent compo for him, Moloney and Rivers?

Stringer anyone?

It takes two to tango.

Remember, it was MFC that decided not to finalise contract negotiations with several of its players.

If we get bitten on the bum as a result, we can't complain.

I don't think we would leave any meaningful fish, swimming on the line.

GWS putting all picks bar no.1 on the table:

What's our best offer for pick 2?

Ricky Petterd + Lynden Dunn + Matthew Bate

Thought I'd get that one out of the way before some dumbarse suggests it as a legitimate trade option

I'd happily trade Sylvia for pick 2, but GWS would probably laugh in our faces.

Opinions on the net worth of Colin Garland & Stef Martin?

I wouldn't trade col garland, ou of everyone on the list he most likley to play the jarred rivers role if he goes to the cats

So, am I correct in saying that nothing has happened today (in terms of MFC list changes that is)?

I'd suggest that it would only leave very small teeth marks, and most certainly wouldn't break the skin.

Funny thing is we will probably get the player we would take at 2 at 4 anyway.

Offer up Pick 20 + Gysberts for pick 13. I'd use pick 13 to snag Tim Membrey in the Draft. *(Just thinking out loud). Ready made mid/fwd 189cm, highly rated.

*Won't happen. Having to rely on Membrey being available at that pick is too greater risk given he's rated to go between 10-20 (or 7-20). Food for thought for pick 13 anyway.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
