CASEY DEMONS 2017 PRE SEASON
Hulett Packard III replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
He's same poster from bigfooty who supplied vision from last week's game and a Doggies fan. Sounds like he liked the games of Hannan and Johnstone the most and that none of the rest are really going to challenge other than the usuals - Kent, Jetta and Pedo. No mention of Declan Keily? -
JLT Community Series - The Missing

Our growing injury list which covers a goodly percentage of the missing is a concern but looking at things from another perspective, we definitely have some depth in our list. Dion Johnstone (available) Ben Kennedy (foot) Jay Kennedy-Harris (broken arm) Dean Kent (back) Mitch King (long term injury list) Heritier Lumumba (retired) Pat McKenna (available) Cameron Pedersen (available) Aaron vandenBerg (stress fracture in foot) Josh Wagner (dislocated fibula) ROOKIE LIST: CATEGORY A Lachlan Filipovic (shoulder?) Not much of a training report (especially if you're JKH) JKH to miss six to eight weeks -
JKH to miss six to eight weeks "Forward/midfielder Jay Kennedy-Harris has suffered a broken arm and will miss the next six to eight weeks."

Thanks Saty. So based on that you would expect that assuming no changes to the injury list, the following players should be able to suit up for the Casey Demons in their first practice match next Saturday:- PRIMARY LIST: Sam Frost Colin Garland Jeff Garlett Mitch Hannan Liam Hulett Neville Jetta Ben Kennedy Dean Kent Mitch King Heritier Lumumba Pat McKenna Cameron Pedersen Jack Trengove Dom Tyson Josh Wagner Jack Watts ROOKIE LIST: CATEGORY A Lachlan Filipovic Declan Keilty Tim Smith Mitch White ROOKIE LIST: CATEGORY B Corey Maynard -
JLT Round 2 vs. Carlton at Casey Fields

Lumumba -
Bad couple of days for the City of Adelaide with both of their teams going down. Funny thing is that the media are talking finals and perhaps better for the Saints and doom and gloom for Port Adelaide but there was only one point in a practice game played at St Kilda's home ground and Port had more scoring shots.

JLT Community Series - The Missing

I've done an update on the missing list. Can't find any reason for Sam Frost's non-selection other than a report from a training thread suggesting he was on the sidelines with a niggle so that will have to do. PRIMARY LIST: Sam Frost (niggle?) Colin Garland (omitted from final squad) Jeff Garlett (hamstring) Mitch Hannan (shoulder) Liam Hulett (available) Neville Jetta (hand?) Ben Kennedy (foot) Dean Kent (back) Mitch King (long term injury) Heritier Lumumba (retired) Pat McKenna (available) Cameron Pedersen (shoulder) Jack Trengove (omitted from final squad) Dom Tyson (knee) Josh Wagner (dislocated fibula) Jack Watts (available) ROOKIE LIST: CATEGORY A Lachlan Filipovic (shoulder?) Declan Keilty (available) Tim Smith (available) Mitch White (niggle?) ROOKIE LIST: CATEGORY B Corey Maynard (available) -
Why this unhealthy obsession that requires making comparisons about everything that happens with the Neeld era? Most of the time the comparisons are remote and irrelevant which indicates these people are acting out of spite, stupidity or both. Just build a bridge and get over it.

Hulett Packard III replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
So with Joel Smith's good form last week in the pre season comp and his possible upgrading from the rookie list, does anyone think he could lay claim to the now vacant #8 guernsey? -
We watched the game yesterday and saw 26 of our listed players but what about the rest? PRIMARY LIST: Sam Frost Colin Garland (cut from original squad) Mitch Hannan Michael Hibberd Liam Hulett Neville Jetta Dion Johnstone (cut from original squad) Ben Kennedy Dean Kent Mitch King Heritier Lumumba (retired) Pat McKenna Cameron Pedersen Jack Trengove (cut from original squad) Dom Tyson Jack Watts ROOKIE LIST: CATEGORY A Lachlan Filipovic Declan Keilty Tim Smith Mitch White ROOKIE LIST: CATEGORY B Corey Maynard

Who is "Health"?

How quickly people forget. I suppose there's a whole new generation of Demon fans growing up who know very little about Troy Broadbridge. His passing on his honeymoon and nowhere near the prime of his life yet along with hundreds of thousands of others was a sad day in my life and a tragedy for all.

Foxtel Superhero Month - Max Gawn
Hulett Packard III replied to Rodney (Balls) Grinter's topic in Melbourne Demons
I taped a few of these games and later on today will settle down and watch selected passages. Perfect way to start a holiday break. -
Well, it looks as if Max had a fair bit to do with the Filipovic recruitment after all if you go by this article from the MFC site - Filipovic eager to take it to the Max And why not? After all, he's our player and was helping out in a coaching role at Ormond and the Dragons and his opinion about the way he plays and about his character would certainly have been worthwhile seeking in the circumstances.

Goodwin excited by fans’ expectations
Hulett Packard III replied to 254alonzoraymond's topic in Melbourne Demons
Ha, ha ... the most laughable comment of the year. Schwab hasn't been part of the club for almost four years and you expect him to be all over Melbourne instead of the club he was raised up supporting as a child? Clarko was at Melbourne for a couple of years but I'll bet if he had a FB page today it would be full of Hawthorn material. You really crack me up sometimes. -

Naah...not fun police. Clubs have certain protocols and they must be adhered to - happy to get D167s input without upsetting the applecart. ? -
Training - Friday 18th November, 2016
Hulett Packard III replied to waynewussell's topic in Melbourne Demons
The comparison between Jayden Hunt (2014) and Joel Smith (2015) at Casey isn't really valid. Hunt was used very sparingly because he was coming off a long term back injury and was played on a HFF. Nevertheless, he did achieve the honour of being his club's equal top goalkicker. By way of contrast the other equal top goalkicker was Max King who by the end of this year was playing in the development league and has now been delisted. There you had two players who you could have been excited about 12 months ago but one took the step up and the other went the other way. Although dream team points might not be the best way to judge a defender, you missed the fact that Joel Smith hardly got in the published best player votes while the example you gave of Tom McDonald as a defender who only averages 68 points a game, is regularly quoted in our best players at seniors level. The point is we shouldn't put too much pressure on a kid trying to make it in the game. He isn't even on our senior list yet. -
2016 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Hulett Packard III replied to dee-luded's topic in Melbourne Demons
Nearly all of those players are still available at the end of Chris25's phantom draft. We could still have a good choice of ruckmen, running backs or mids available in the third. Plus the possibility of Jason Taylor plucking out a smokey. -
Yes, Riewoldt did us in on Roosy's first game as coach but he was being well covered by T Mac until injured in the second quarter. We also lost Fitzy early to concussion and one other player during the game. Kicked badly too. If the stars align for us then we win easily next time.

With all the kerfuffle about the players we are going to be picking up, how many deals have we completed so far?
