‘Pickles’ Evans relishes return

Good on ya Pickles!

Whilst we all agree living the life of a AFL player especially a demons player would be great it can't be that great great when you have only played a handful of games and have had nearly as much surgeries as games.

He has busted his butt and put up with surgery, pain and therapy session after therapy session to try and get back and play. Anyone on here who has had any type of injury/surgery knows how much of a pain in the ass it is and for him to come back and play for the dee's is something I look forward to.

It should mandatory that you can demonstrate that you can understand and can teach how to use an apostrophe before you can become a teacher.

Good on you pickles'!

Anyone that saw him play on Saturday had to be impressed, it was really his first game in 18 months he was good, he has something most our midfielders don't the ability to carry the football, he attacks. Evans and Jetta are two players that take the game on, run with the footy, play on and attack the game, I hope both see out 2012 and remain on our list for the next couple of years.

First game back and a pretty handy one too. It shows his natural talent. Don't know if they could all fit in the one side but imagine a fit and in form Blease,Nicho,Jetta and pickles. They are all line breakers and it would be good footy to watch.

Maybe a comma, or two, wouldn't go astray either JM.

Ah....good old 'Pickles' Evans

Last year I was genuinely excited when we rookie listed both Evans and Nicholson. Both offer pace and run and spread, something we desperately need. It's such a shame that both have had their year curtailed by injuries. Nicho has since worked his way back into the side and continues to prove his worth. I hope Evans is given every chance to do the same. Hope to see both boys back at the club in 2013.

Very impressed with his come back game against Bendigo. He showed some real class in patches considering he had been out for so long.

Well done pickles!!

I was taking the [censored] & posting quickly.

Ended up with a few too many "that you can"s too.

It's a lot easier to press your case for retention on the list if you can actually get on the park, so I'm pleased for him in that regard. Good luck "Pickles"!

If we are to keep him it will most likely be a 3rd year Rookie, but I think that means going through the draft again...

Will be hard i think to keep. He ll need to break into the seniors and have a cracking game or 2 for a shot I think.

The cut needs to come from somewhere and lets face it, Morton isn't going to get cut.

From memory, i think rookies can get be rookied for a third year if they 'accept' to do so at request from the club. I think that happened with Spencer? I doubt Evans would turn that down.

'The cut' needs to come from the main list. Not sure what Morton has to do with anything but there are plenty of other players on the block.

I think Evans should be in the Seniors as soon as possible , on the strength of his game v. Bendigo.

What surprised me was the way he's built up his body . Last year he seemed so skinny. Now he looks like a proper AFL midfielder.

And what about the accuracy in those two goals! Both were team-lifting and changed the momentum of the game.

He might not be fit enough yet, but promote him as soon as possible!

Apostrophe crime!!!!

O'MG!

Very few people know how and where to put an apos'trophe and I find it s'imply exas'perating. It would be far better were they not to us'e it at all.

S'ave the apos'trophe!!

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
