Christ some people will do anything to saying something negative about the club. It drives me crazy. Negativity follow our club around because of [censored] like this. He was pick #52. Very players in that range make it in the AFL. "One of the very worst picks" is an exaggeration beyond belief.

Looking at the 2014 draft is interesting. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014_AFL_draft From the top 10, Wright looks like he could develop into something special, and Darcy Moore also looks good but was never going to be available to us. If you keep going down the draft, the only players that really stand out to me are Lever and Heeney (who also was never going to be available).

No he wouldn't. Stef is a good when he is the #1 ruck - we already have that, we just need someone who can give Gawn a rest but play elsewhere most of the time. Stef never played well in that role.

I'd take Watts over Tim O'Brien but apart from that it's not like there are a whole lot of players that Watts is better than. If his current form keeps up it'll be a different story... but plenty of players have had good patches through largely disappointing careers.

His contract is too expensive for another team to take him. The only way I could see us getting rid of him is if we paid some of his salary.

It's a lot easier to just be a 'body' and compete in ruck contests, than it is to play forward. As people have said above, we need a second forward who can pinch hit in the ruck, not the other way around.
