Injury List - Round 17

Some of the highlights of this week's injury list:

* Liam Jurrah improves from 1-3 weeks to 1 - 2 weeks in the week before his next court appearance;

* three players face fitness tests but Casey's bye makes two of those tests relatively worthless because it's highly unlikely that either Tynan or Sheahan would have a game to play regardless of the outcome;

* Jamie Bennell's ACL brings to five the number of players on the list who are gawn for the rest of the season;

* the TBC category raises it's ugly head again. What it means is nobody really has a clue what's going on with the blokes in question; amf

* Pickles is out for 1 - 2 with a back after playing well at Casey last week. Either that or the fact that he's studying law means he's been co-opted onto Liam Jurrah's defence team.

Good luck to the Warlpiri Wizard anyway. Hope he's back soon!

James Sellar (thigh) test

Josh Tynan (concussion) test

Jai Sheahan (ankle) test

Lynden Dunn (suspension) available

Liam Jurrah (ankle) 1-2 weeks

Jamar out for another 3 weeks is disappointing, big chance for Spencer and Stef.

OOOOH FOR GOD'S SAKE. RUSSIAN OUT FOR 3 WEEKS! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Lisa Simpson: “Look on the bright side, Dad. Did you know that the Chinese use the same word for ‘crisis’ as they do for ‘opportunity?’”

Homer Simpson: “Yes. ‘Crisitunity!’”

Definitely a crisitunity.

No Grimes at that list is good.

Unfortunately this means nothing !!!

I don't remember seeing, Jones or Jamar mentioned in the injury list before the Brisbane game. It seems to me the only time you know what's going on is 10mins before the bounce

So if missons sport science skills isn't meant to stop soft tissue injuries then what is he meant to be doing in terms of reducing injuries

we are 2nd on the 'weeks missed from soft tissue injury' ladder with 41 weeks missed in total

I assume Essendon is number 1. Interesting as both clubs were not fit or strong enough and high profile fitness experts have been brought in to change that. Hird said the other say that the injuries they have copped is the price to be paid for getting a club up to speed fitness wise (or words to that effect), or in his words to be as strong and fit as the legit premiership hopes

Essendon first with 47 weeks missed. North last with 1 week missed.

I would have thought Essendon wouldn't have been as far behind as us fitness wise...

Not this year no. But when Hird came on board he said they were no where near it and this year their focus has been on building the strength required to macth it with the big boys

I really feel for Michael Evans. He seems to have the goods but just can't stay healthy.

I really hope that Watts and Tappy will pull up good to go for this weekend. We really missed JW against the Dockers.

Doesn't it feel good that we can say "we missed JW". If there is nothing else about this year at least we have Jack and how much he has improved. I am in the glass half full component of Demonland.

I'd be surprised if Jamar is only out for 3 weeks. Calf injuries always seem to take longer to heal for older players. And he's now done it twice which suggests the need for a very conservative approach.

Me too

If you look hard enough there is almost always a reason to smile.

Got mine this morning when the MFC site says Jamar out for up to 4 weeks.

If we use the same scale they use to show LJ 's condition and return date then I would say we will not see jamar again in 2012.

    GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

    It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

    Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

    Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

    The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res
