WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JIMMY TOUMPAS

Recommended Posts

Wines will make friends, get games, and I doubt he will want to leave Port for quite a while, if ever.

If he does at some point choose to leave the Power, I don't think he'll be coming to us. I wouldn't want to come to a club that had passed on me.

I don't think Wines will ever play for us either but not because we overlooked him. Most players will know their place in the pecking order and who is better than who. I'm guessing Ollie never thought we would take him if Toumpas was still available

I just listened to the SEN interview - he sounds like a great kid, and living with the Vineys must be very stabilising for him, and a great compliment on the esteem that he is held at the club.

Grundy would be another potential pick #2 but GC do not need a ruckman

We would possibly go Grundy, Wines, Garlett, Mayes, Stringer (If we are feeling foolish)

God i hope we land this kid. Last year demonland had a forum " the finding another Jack Trengove thread", consider him found. If GC dont take him We got damn better.

Just wow! To think you have the distinct lack of fortitude that you continually post your dismay that we took Toumpas over Wines. And correct me if I'm wrong but you've even commented on how bad our recruiters are because Toumpas is playing VFL whilst the likes of Mcrae(who you don't mention) & Stringer(who we'd have been foolish to take) are carving it up for the Bulldogs.

2015 Jimmy needs to be holding down a regular spot in the senior side or he is gone imo,

having said that the comparisions to Wines are pointless, it's like watching your ex girlfriend and new partner, feeling just get hurt, especially after he took freo apart last night in a big final.

I still believe if Jimmy is given a really good pre season and a great run at it next year and can hold down a spot in the senior side he can develop into a good player for us, or if we decide to trade him we might get something alright in return, and he might blossom over in SA

Toumpas a big NO from me.

Far too much probability of go home factor against this kid if my mail is right!

WINES WINES AND WINES without a moment's hesitation.

Ah the sweet smell of prophesy!! nearly two years ago I said it Sheeeeeit I should be a recruiter!! If Phil whats his face can then surely the "Fence" can trump him!

But the "go home" factor was your only knock on him ... you fail to mention any other factors. And again, it's too late now to add anything extra.

So ... if Jimmy doesn't go home, can we assume that you're happy with the decision to draft him?

Nup not happy at the time and still not happy but as I have said if the go home factor is correct it is just one of many reasons we should not have gone near him>

Um the other is WINES CAN PLAY not seen anything to suggest this bloke can!

Yeah but if your old flame was pretty special and you were seduced by the possibility of something better and she turned out to be a "Shocker" then how would you feel?

Do you breathe new light into other peoples lives dude? You seem to be so misunderstood here on DL.

Or are you really the dikchead you come across as?

Oops, no need to answer, I think I know.

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
