Dees v Eagles prediction

The result logically should be a comfortable win to the eagles. Im More interested in seeing which players show -: spirit, heart, commitment, aggression, desire. And for how long over the course of the game.

I want to know which players are going to walk the walk.

There truly is nothing sadder, more depressing than seeing people ask for an admirable 100+ point loss. To not ask for a win, but at least a little effort in defeat is sad, sad stuff.

If they're going to lose by 100 points, there's no doubt about it: the team is [censored].

I want to see a win and nothing more.

But I won't see that, because we are truly wooden spoon material.

Eagles by 87.

We will be lucky to score a goal in the first half of the game and will lose by 100+ points and have no answers to West coasts run and carry. Josh Kennedy may just seal the Coleman medal in the second week of the season

are we all having fun posting this stuff? how many goals are you tipping it will take to win the 2012 Coleman?

long time supporters will remember the years when we went in hope and now can't actually remember the final scores of the games we went to. Mostly we went to see the incomparable Robbie, and all the other guys we loved... There's more than winning, and loyalty is part of being a supporter.

Football is in a way an analogy for life.

I predict the following: God awful disposal from everyone in our team, a complete inability to kick out from defence, twenty fewer tackles and a -120 uncontested possession count. I couldn't give a rat's tossbag about the scoreline unless we win (which we won't), so I won't be making any predictions in that department.

I was starting to feel good about this weekend, then Bartram poked his head up and I remembered we have too many below par players.

However, if I go back to my initial reasoning. I believe last week we played on an empty tank in the second half. The Jimmy week had drained us of our deep psyche emotion. They were flat. Essentially we tried playing the 'lets win it for Jimmy' theme. You cann't really do it for someone else. You've got to do it foryourself and the guy next to you. I'm hopeful the battering the players took will release the deeper personal pride. The criticism they have received might have even made them personally angry. I'm hoping for more energy so predict a ten goal loss - not the 15 we might have had.

At this stage of their development I couldn't care less about the score. I want to see them build into a positive bonded team who believe in themselves and one another. I'm think round 5 to 15 is particularly important to assess their development.

PS I think we did the Jimmy thing really well but believe it had to have a short term price for long term pay off. The club will be better for it in the long run.

I expect close to a carbon copy of round 1. We'll put up a fight for the first half and then give way under the pressure. Our forward structure will continue to struggle to produce and eventually the weight of numbers will tell and their forwards will gain dominance. Only difference is that WC are a significantly better side than Brisbane and will hit us harder on the scoreboard.

I'm starting to think that all the senior players earmarked for the chop might play this week including Davey. These senior players have reached the point of no return and no rock is big enough for them to hide under anymore. Some sort of arrangement has happened with the Davey issue and now Neeld is not interested or cares who made the allegations as he was on Monday. One last chance to see if the penny has dropped at what is arguably the house of pain for us. If there still is resistance to Neeld's ways this game will show once and for all who will sink or swim. If they rise to the challenge we might be a slim chance.

You know we have hit rock bottom when everybody pretty much agrees that we'll lose by 100 points and nobody is surprised by it.

Not even in our wooden spoon years did I tip against us and go into a match hoping to lose by unde 100 points to keep it respectable.

But, reality is, there is a bigger chance I'll get run over by a donkey, than of us winning this game.

That was bizarre . .

Yep , ya never know if those sorta things are gonna work or not . Stupid stuff but what the hey............... .

I just hope we put up a decent effort on Saturday . We don't need another meltdown like last weekend . Threads everywhere . Venting left , right and centre . I think I was a little bit guilty as well on one occasion .

Hate losing but a 5 goal loss (all things considered) might be ok . That's my optimistic view .

Cheers

Deeluded- you really have sense of optimism or stupidity in your believe we could only go down by 6 goals.I genuinely hope your right but very very doubtful.I will be very happy if this eventuates.Good on ya for your positive slant on things.

You people predicting 100+ are f#%ked, The boys will be relieved to get away from Melbourne and after the week we have had some team bonding, careers on the line and severely dented pride.

They are a better team than us but believe we will give a better account of ourselves but will go down by anywhere between 4 to 6 goals

Maybe it's because we're based in WA, PSD that we are a little more optimistic.

I'm of the same thoughts, thinking it'll be around 5 to 6 goals.

Nevertheless I've put $20 on the Dee's to win.

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w
